Justin Williams:
After winning first preseason game against Dallas:
How did the game go last night and how are you feeling about the team?:
Justin Williams: “The game was great. We all came out tough and competed well. Our team did a great job coming out and showing what we’ve been going through in training camp.”
Do you feel like you accomplished your game plan goal?:
Williams: “Yes. Most definitely. That’s what we wanted to do. I think we did a good job.”
How do you feel about the chemistry among everybody at camp so far?:
Williams: “I feel really good. Everybody has been so supportive. A lot of the older players have been looking out for guys like me and the other young guys. It has been really helpful for us.”
Kevin Martin:
After winning first preseason game against Dallas:
It is your third year in the league, how do you gauge your body right now and your game? What is the main thing going through your head right now?:
Martin: “I am just trying to get into the regular season healthy. We have great team chemistry right now. A lot of us played together last year. We just all want to go into the season healthy.”
How do you feel about the game last night?:
Martin: “We executed well. We just want to keep on building off that. We still have a lot of work to do.”
What is the biggest thing that you worked on during the off-season that you hope to implement this season?:
Kevin Martin Martin: “Everything. I don’t really focus on just one part of my game. I like to do other things.”
You rebound really well for a guard. Is that your jumping ability?:
Martin: “Yes. It is a lot of my quickness and jumping ability. I’m not going to come down and out-muscle you. I try to elevate early.”
Ronnie Price:
After winning first preseason game against Dallas:
How was the first preseason game last night?:
Price: “It is always exciting to get back on the court and compete. You get a feeling when you are on the court. It is an unbelievable feeling. It is what we live for. I enjoyed that moment. We came out and executed our game plan and played really well as a team. Defensively, we executed everything we wanted to do. It just made it that much better.”
What did the coaches have to say? What was the overall feeling?:
Price: “Like I said, we had a game plan and they were happy that we executed our game plan. As a team, that is always a good accomplishment when you are told to do something and you go out there and do it and win the game by doing it. It was fun for us to not compete against each other. It was fun for us to be one and go against a different opponent.”
How do you feel about the team right now?:
Price: “The team is great. We have an excellent group of guys. Especially for me being young and having guys that I’m surrounded by everyday who are good mentors. Everyone is friends on this team. It is fun. We are all trying to get to the same place. When you have guys that are happy to be around one another and all fighting for the same thing, it normally works out..”
Loren Woods:
After winning first preseason game against Dallas:
How are you feeling about this team so far?:
Woods: “It is a good team. It is fun playing with guys who love playing the game. It is great because everyone expects so much from themselves. Everybody expects a lot from their teammates. It makes it fun because you always push yourself, but then you have guys constantly telling you everyday that you need to push harder. They want the most out of you. That is a good feeling.”
How is the chemistry of this team?:
Woods: “You can always say that your teammates are like your brothers. You are almost around your teammates more than you are around your family. It makes your teammates your second family. You don’t always get that with teams. You don’t always have guys getting along. You don’t always have guys who really respect each other.”
It is your third year in the league, how do you gauge your body right now and your game? What is the main thing going through your head right now?:
Woods: “I think I’ve come into training camp as strong as I’ve ever been. I actually found that I’m more comfortable when I’m playing at a lighter weight. All summer I spent so much time on trying to lift weights and get stronger and put on more weight, because people have told me that’s what I needed to do. I don’t like playing at a heavy weight. I’m actually in the process of trying to get quicker and trying to get a little lighter so I can be able to move around better.”
So you don’t want to play someone else’s game, you want to play your own game?:
Woods: “Absolutely. Coach Musselman likes to get up and pressure and have guys out running on offense. I’ve got to be light to be able to do that. What did you guys say to Ronnie after he was swatted last night in the game? It was funny because when we came in today, at the main computer when you first walk in here, somebody put it up as a screensaver. They got the picture from NBA.com. I don’t know who did it. It was probably Kevin Martin because he is the team prankster. It was funny."

Jason Hart:
How has training camp been so far?:
Hart: “Training camp is pretty tough. My body is kind of tight.”
How was the conditioning test?:
Hart: “The conditioning test was really hard.”
Do you like the new NBA basketball?:
Hart: “Yes. It is kind of slippery, but it is pretty cool.”
Ronnie Price:
How is training camp?:
Price: “Training camp has been fun. Guys are working hard. We all have to reach the team goal and the only way we’ll be able to reach it is by coming in here everyday and getting ready to practice and practice hard.”
How was the conditioning test?:
Price: “It was test. It was good though. Everybody passed it.”
What did you guys have to do in order to pass the conditioning test?:
Price: “We had to do 5’s. 5’s are 10 baseline touches and guards have to do it in 58 seconds, wings (forwards) have to do it in 60 seconds, and bigs (centers and power forwards) have to do it in 62 seconds. We had to do four of them with a 3 minute rest in between each of them.”
Which player mentors you?:
Price: “Mike Bibby. That’s easy. If you just look at his accomplishments and everything he has accomplished in this game, it is amazing. I don’t know if people realize how good he really is and what he really brings to the table everyday. When you are out here practicing with him and you work-out with him during the summer, you could see the dedication and the motivation that he has for this game. And being a young guy and wanting one day to get to accomplish the things that he’s accomplished, you can’t help but look up to a guy like that. I was here during the summer and everyday I would come in and I would see him working out. People might not understand how much of a leader he can be and how much of a leader he is, but he has helped me a lot as a young guy learning how to play this game.”
What words of advice has he given you?:
Price: “It doesn’t really have to be words every time. You can just watch him play. Being a player and wanting to get where he is, you can just see what he does and add it to your game. That’s what I’ve started doing. When I have questions about things, he is quick to let me know the right answers about things to do in certain situations of the game. I’m thankful to have him to watch everyday.”
