While the 10-day tournament is a resourceful idea, it’s trash without Fox’s gaming prowess. Elite NBA players Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell, who have both been cleared of COVID-19, along with 2020 All-Stars Devin Booker and Trae Young have accepted the challenge, with the $100,000 prize money going toward a charity combatting COVID-19.

Basketball fans can watch some of their favorite players compete for the first time in weeks when the NBA 2K20 Players Tournament starts this weekend. The league is still on lockdown due to the coronavirus crisis, but 16 players will participate in the first-ever players-only videogame tournament on ESPN and ESPN2. Harrison Barnes will represent the Kings in a field that features Kevin Durant, Trae Young, Hassan Whiteside, Donovan Mitchell, Devin Booker and former Kings star DeMarcus Cousins.

With little-to-nothing going on in terms of competition in the sports world, 16 prominent NBA players are participating in an NBA 2K20 tournament, with the winner bringing home a $100,000 charity prize for COVID-19 relief. Each player was allowed a list of eight teams to choose from, with the caveat of only being able to use each team one time during the tournament. Kevin Durant, who used the Los Angeles Clippers, lost the opening matchup to Derrick Jones Jr. who was using the Milwaukee Bucks.
