In my humble opinion, this is an ill-advised take. Malik Monk signed a 4 year , $77,975,308 contract with the Sacramento Kings, including $77,975,308 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $19,493,827. Maybe you might want to re-think this one.
I'm hopeful. I don't think of this as a bad trade. I think it is an innovative look at the horizon....similar to what the Giants did when they lost out on Ohtani. Under the circumstances, I like the move.
Really nothing the Monte naysayers can say right now. Which is why they haven't responded in this thread.
I just did. Will see. Come game time, the guy is 35 years old. Give me that 35 year old player that gets me over the top. Fair enough?
I beg to differ. You stated, " It didn't work out." So as I stated, when I wrote the post years ago, the Kings received 1.75 million. What else do they have now?
I'm not so sure. New Orleans spanked us 5 times this season. And OKC just ran the table on New Orleans. I would say we are a couple levels away at least. And that is with Malik on board. Without Malik we are even further away.
How we can climb the ladder-Can Monte make a great draft...
Warriors
Most expensive roster in NBA. 2nd apron of luxury tax. No 1st round pick this year. Klay coming off 43mil this year wants multiple years and I suspect min $20 mil per. Draymond is 34 and signed $77mil , Steph is 36 owed 115 mil. Wiggins locked up for $85 mil more. Wishful thinking in...
Like keeping Kessler Edwards is going to make a difference?
Obviously, injuries to Monk and Heurter hurt. And since the Kings already owe a #1 pick to Atlanta, for Heurter-that the Kings seem to want to get rid of-we have more problems getting better. And to re-sign Monk, it will take a...
I think it comes down to this.
The Kings are a really good team when healthy. And a healthy Kings teams could give most teams in the West a run for their money-excepting teams NO, and who knows. I can see why they walked it back.
On the other hand, the Kings had what was once known as an...
As long as the Kings went 8-2, and didn't make the play-in or playoffs, and you would celebrate? Not me. I also, think that most of our other Kings fans, would not be celebrating either. Isn't the idea here to win an NBA championship, and to do that, you must first make the play-in, playoffs?
lol.
Ridiculous.
Vlade wanted Luke to become head coach of the Kings earlier, when Luke signed with the Lakers. As soon as Luke was available, Valde jumped all over Luke. I wouldn't be surprised if Vlade talked to the Lakers-perhaps even Magic or Jeannie Buss and found out that Luke could...
