When Do We Blow It Up?

People can fool themselves into believing whatever they want. Especially those with certain anti-player tendencies. Fox may not be an all-NBA defender, and like a lot of players might not be as consistent on that end as one would hope, but he is certainly a superior on-ball defender than Monk...

When Do We Blow It Up?

Swipa is also the superior scorer. It's no contest. As much as I love MM, and understand that he most definitely is capable of getting hot and posting some high scoring games -- he doesn't have near the same ability to create and get any shot he wants any time he wants. TBF, neither do a lot of...

When Do We Blow It Up?

^^ This is one-dimensional thinking at its finest. Nothing personal, but it’s hard to take people that think like this seriously as knowledgeable sports fans.

When Do We Blow It Up?

Best post I’ve read in a while. Great points and perspective. I couldn’t agree more with the last sentence.

    [Game] 26/82: Kings @ Pelicans 12 DEC 2024, 5pm PT/8pm ET

Agreed. It could be much worse. FWIW, they were 14-12 in 2022-23 as well. The season they won 48. Coach Brown needs to figure out why this team starts the season off so slowly all the time. Figure that out and fix it and 50+ shouldn't be a problem.

I've noticed that Deebo suffers a bit from Mitch Richmond disease.

    [Game] 26/82: Kings @ Pelicans 12 DEC 2024, 5pm PT/8pm ET

Despite the 5 wins and injuries, they’d been competitive the previous 4 games prior to playing the KINGS. They beat the Suns, who had Booker and Beale playing, lost to the Spurs by 5, who had Wemby playing, and lost to OKC and Atlanta by 10 and 12 points respectively. And had Zion actually...

    [Game] 26/82: Kings @ Pelicans 12 DEC 2024, 5pm PT/8pm ET

Just like 2021 or whatever the year was when Swipa was averaging like 40 per game against NOP — different season, different result. So glad to not have to hear about NOP having our number and being a bad matchup anymore. No excuses about who did or didn’t play or who is or isn’t on these teams...

    Welcome Devin Carter

A quick google search discovered the following: And who knew that Coach K was watching and breaking down film from our KINGS back then!

    Welcome Devin Carter

IIRC didn't Peja's shot have an odd, sort of side spin to it? I'd have to go back and look to be sure, but I seem to recall an odd release to it.

    Welcome Devin Carter

Slow release obviously can play a factor, no doubt. Especially so if the release point is low or the player is smaller and doesn't have length, as they'll require more space to get the shot off. But form means nothing if the result is good.

    Welcome Devin Carter

Far too many talent evaluators and fans get caught up in the eye test when it comes to shooting form, when they should only be concerned with results. WRT the KINGS, both Kevin Martin and Peja Stojakovic had odd forms yet the shots went in at a fairly high rate. When Tyrese Haliburton was here...

    [Game] 25/82: Kings vs. Jazz 08 DEC 2024, 6pm PT/9pm ET

As I mentioned about a week ago or so, as long as the KINGS point differential continues to be in the positive (+3.2 as of tonight) then the odds remain good that their record will balance out for the better over the long haul. Every team in the top 7 in the West has a positive point...

Good win against a bad team. Now let's go get another one on Thursday against a terrible Pelicans team that has been giving away easy wins.

    THE KENTUCKY CONNECTION

For the most part, I agree. But I will propose the possibility that Devin having to sit and watch for this long now just might accelerate his learning curve and impact to this team. We shall see.

    THE KENTUCKY CONNECTION

I know there were a few of us that felt MM should have been starting last season. It’s sad it had to come down to an underwhelming first quarter of a season for it to finally happen. As you alluded to, it’s time to find out if this is a better fit or just a fugazi.

    Fare thee well

I tried to warn everyone. Anytime a thread is revived after such a long drought — it usually doesn’t go so well. This particular thread was awful from the get go. And just when you think it can’t get any worse …. I really believe these guys are debating with a teenager. If not, that’s at least...

    Welcome Devin Carter

We were all understandably downbeat once we discovered that Devin Carter was going to miss the beginning of the season and beyond — but given how this season has unfolded thus far, his return just might provide the spark this team so desperately needs right now.

    [Game] 20/82: Kings @ Trail Blazers 29 NOV 2024, 7pm PT/10pm ET

There’s nothing to give credit for. The Blazers, like a lot of teams the KINGS have been losing to, are lottery bound. They’re not good, no matter how much some of you want to tout their supposed “long ball hawk players” (Give me a break!). Portland has been $#/t for years and it hasn’t changed...

    Fare thee well

This thread is…. It was better off dead and buried the past 5 years, as the bump and new fantasy topic direction certainly didn’t improve or give it new life.
