[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (AUG/SEP)

You'd think in today's golden age of technology and social media and having any and all information available at our fingertips that people would finally realize how freaking difficult it is (next to impossible) to add 20 pounds of muscle in 3 months naturally.

    Cousins to Lakers

    LOL Is that actually him?

    Favorite free agent signing?

Yeah, I think this actually matters a lot. Jamming a guy into a 35+ minute per game role with a bunch of young guys and a young team isn't an easy adjustment for anybody. Especially for Barnes who worked to revert back into GSW Barnes, rather than #2 option Barnes with Dallas.

    Favorite free agent signing?

Ariza was the bottom-tier signing for me as well, but relying on him for 30+ MPG as the Suns and Wizards were and relying on him for 15-20 MPG as we will are entirely different things. He's not starter quality anymore, but he can space the floor, still average on defense and can flex at the 3/4...

California Classic Game 2 Kings versus Heat 7/2/19

The Guy 3-ball is definitely intriguing, looks like he's got some ability to get off the shot in traffic and obviously has the amazing stroke and form. That alone gives you some NBA potential. Gotta see how those guard ball-handler/playmaker skills develop though in Stockton.

Oh yeah, I'm here for this. Trying to get "revenge" on us?

    Favorite free agent signing?

Yeah, that's sort of the point. The starters were playoff caliber last season, but once you got to the bench, especially when Bjelly and Bogdan starting struggling mid-way through the year, the team just drastically fell off. We saw it too when Bagley got hurt for those 2 stretches, the bench...

    Kings sign Richaun Holmes 2/10

So, correct me if Im wrong, but we can suit up 13, have 15 guys on our NBA roster and 2 2-way contracts? Which leaves us at: Fox || CoJo || Yogi Buddy || Bogdan Barnes || Ariza Bagley || Holmes || Bjelica Dedmon || Giles Then Caleb and Frank make 14 and JJ and Guy make 16. and Troy Williams...

    Kings sign Richaun Holmes 2/10

Hell.Freaking.Yea. Yeah I think Bjelica is pretty much gone. His big asset is floor spacing at the 4, something we can easily get by flexing Barnes or Ariza down now. Holmes wouldn't have signed a "prove it" deal with us if he thought he was going to be the 5th big. Must have gotten some...

    Kings sign Cory Joseph

The common theme with all these signings is we rewarded these guys with big money contracts, but we got flexibility to get out of the deal in the final year in return. Which, is honestly pretty smart with all our young guys being up for extensions at some point in that time-span. And we had to...

    Kings sign Cory Joseph

He's absolutely an upgrade over Yogi Joseph: 1.53 DRPM (4th among PGs) 0.8 VORP -0.5 BPM (but 1.4 DBPM, his offense was really bad last season) 20.7% AST rate 7.5% TRB 47.4% TS (ick) 12.8% TOV 13.7% USG rate Yogi: -1.45 DRPM (88th among PGs) -0.1 VORP -2.3 BPM 17.0% AST rate 5.3% TRB 55% TS...

    Kings sign Cory Joseph

Overpaid everyone for sure, but all these guys being back-ups (or in a platoon in Dedmon's case), does matter. We aren't relying on these guys for anything other than to give depth and support the already established core. Big difference from the ZBo/Hill year where those guys were expected to...

    Kings sign Cory Joseph

Yeah, I dont think Bev was really on the market, he wanted to go back to LAC. Had he waited out the Kawhi decision, he probably could have gotten 18-20 mil from the Lakers or from just about anyone left on the market. Gave them a discount and decided early to maybe hopefully sway Kawhi to sign...

This should be our next focus. It's basically us and the Knicks that can even get close to taking the Dragic contract. 19 mil expiring, fills a pretty nice need for us to as a back-up PG/playmaker.

Imagine how sweet Smart would look at 18 mil/year right now.. damn.
