They're only going to get 2nd rounder(s) back for him if they're totally set on moving him. He's been in the running for the worst NBA player in the league the last 2 seasons and has yet to show any sort of signs that he'll be a rotation player moving forward, much less a core piece they thought...
That was never the point of this discussion. If I wanted to go win a championship now or next season only without worrying about the future, I'd do the trade in a heartbeat. Siakam contributes significantly more to winning than Bagley does and it is isn't close. Just because a few people enjoy...
positions are just a social construct of the man... man.
We saw the blueprint plenty of times this year. Giles defends 5's on D, plays in the high post or a more traditional "4" on offense with Bagley playing the 5 offensively.
Actually that's exactly what they prove. That's the exact purpose of relevant statistics; they show who the better players are. Counting stats are meaningless and an outdated way of thinking and comparing players. The NBA has gotten smarter. I've argued this already with someone on this forum...
Yeah Dedmon is absolute quality. He's one of those guys that would be playing consistent minutes for every team in the NBA. Heunderstands who is he as a talent and sells out completely to maximize that when he's on the floor. He's not going to be taking guys 1on1 or ever look for his own...
Pretty solid idea. Ibaka is quite a bit better than most of the FA big options sans guys we'd have to give huge long-term deals to and he'd be a great role model for how our young bigs can learn to be effective on defense. Bjelica is basically an expiring too for Toronto, would save them a bunch...
Speaking of increased workload, he's doing absolute work in the playoffs right now. Small sample of course but:
39.5% 3pt on 4 attempts,
His On/Off is hilarious right now too:
Doesn't end here either. On/Off statistics are insane for Pascal:
Off rating: 116.8
Def rating: 105.8
Off rating: 108.3
Def rating: 111.3
+13.9 net rating in 2530 minutes for Pascal this season.
-Hyper efficient with a 62.8% TS on 20% USG. Only 12% TOV rate...
If Kawhi ends up leaving, it's going to be so interesting to see how Pascal responds to the increased workload. He's already a star imo, but for him to take that next leap, we got to see how he responds to a heavy USG rate and being more of the focus of the defense.
I mean, i could go through a whole bevy of statistics that show the tremendous impact of Siakam because basically all of them agree he's an absolute star that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. All your qualifiers don't matter for what I said: Pascal is significantly better than Bagley...
Completely agree. I dont think it's the likeliest outcome, but there's a non-zero chance that Siakam can be a top 5-10 player in the league at some point. His skill-set is so tailor-made perfect as a new-age big and he's a legitimate difference maker on the defensive end that can defend all 5...
You're right, he's significantly better than Bagley right now.
Siakam is quickly developing into Draymond 2.0 on defense. He's an absolute terror and can (and has) spent defending all 5 positions on the floor. The big difference is he's got real chops as an offensive player and a threat to...
