Yeah watching Buddy torch the TWolves.
It’s quite possible in retrospect the Hali, Buddy trade for Domas is going to look almost as bad as the Vlade not drafting of Luka.
This ^.
The pairing with Sabonis is horrible. It does continue the Kings current practice of assembling a roster as if they are building a fantasy team. Which given the revelation of Vivek’s involvement, makes tons of sense.
Domas is an undersized center. Statistically your chances of getting a 2 way, long, and high IQ player falls as you exit the top 5. Wings especially are hard to get in that position. It’s not luck that the higher you pick the better your odds of finding an all star level wing.
Pretty depressing watching Haliburton and Nesmith carry the Pacers into the 2nd round when both could have been on our team. Then watch Hield go off….
We were so close to a team with
Haliburton, Nesmith and Wagner.
Honestly what do you see us trading that would acquire this ideal player with limited caveats. The best chance for that kind of return was Fox and yet here we are.
Unfortunately I think many in the league also think that. They were the group who thought Hali for Domas was a steal for Indy. At this point they may well be correct.
My issue with your trade is I don’t think Sabonis returns nearly what people think he will.
True but the Clippers had some guy named Leonard and a point guard named Harden.
Look it’s absolutely reaching and I don’t disagree. But for a team unwilling to take a step back and with limited cap space it’s one of the few realistic options.
I don’t think we disagree. But if your opponents find a lot of guys with length and BBIQ and you don’t then you are perpetually a play-in team.
Here is where we may disagree….
Finding those guys is typically hard. The easiest way to get them is the way we got Murray….. have a top 5 or so...
Unless you all want to declare Carter yet another Monte busted draft pick, sign Chris Paul as a player coach and have him work all summer with Malik and Carter as a point guard.
Meanwhile a Keon, Zach backcourt might work if you have Simmons as your primary ball handler.
Personally I would...
