[Rumor] Amick:Kings not prioritizing Lavine extension and are listening to trade offers

Bumping this thread since there was some question on Perry potentially wanting to resign Lavine. A lot can change, but as of early July it sounded like we are basically going to let him expire if we can’t trade him over the next two years.

I think he was exasperated about the questions about Perry resigning Lavine, given that there were numerous reports in July about Perry having zero interest in resigning Lavine. Sometimes it feels like we go round and round, rehashing the exact same questions and answers, every few months, like...

Predict final Western Conference standings (Kings Finish)

My thoughts: Top Tier – the real contenders 1) OKC 2) Denver 3) Houston Second Tier- the threats to win a round or two 4) Minnesota 5) Lakers Fighting for the 6 seed 6) Clippers 7) Warriors (though a lot of offseason left for them) Play-in or worse teams – I think the spread of these...

[Trade] Warriors have obvious Jonathan Kuminga trade demand after latest Kings reports

But from our cap perspective then you still have Kevin Huerter. So yeah, we bring in $27M in expiring, but we aren't under cap because we would have still had Huerter.

Simmons actually makes a lot of sense as a 12-15 minute backup PG, because he would guard the 4 on defense. So it allows you to play a Carter-Keon-Clifford-Simmons second unit because Simmons gives you the play making that Carter/Keon lack, but can actually guard big wings.

[Game] [VSL Game 4] Kings vs. Cavaliers. 7/16/2025 12:30 Pacific, 3:30 Eastern (ESPN 2)

Except Nique isn’t a small guard. He is a small wing with done versatility to play 1-3. So there is huge difference in taking Davion/Carter in the lottery vs taking someone like Nique at 24.

Honestly, having Raynaud replace Lyles is the way good teams are built in the current era. Almost all of your money should be spent on your top 6-7 guys. You generally want your 8-9 man rotation to be 3 or so high-priced max and near max stars, 2-3 quality veteran role players, and 2-3 quality...

Any minutes you can get him to credibly play stretch 4 are minutes where we are solving some of our significant size challenges. Being able to get minutes of a Domas-Maxime-Keegan frontline would be huge (quite literally).

And yet at the same time, he spent the entire game guarding a pretty big 3/4 wing. Time will tell. By the way, my initial comment was just a playful poke at you. You are actually a good sport about things. It isn't easy to be the contrarian on a message board filled with overly...

And you based your conclusion that he can't guard 3s on what??? His mixtape??? I love that you can conclusively state what a player will be and won't be off of no actual game experience, but then I am not allowed to use an actual game experience to point out the opposite. I agree that 1...

You mean 6'8" Tristan Da Silva? The guy who played 3/4 for Orlando last year and was a regular rotation player for a playoff team? The guy who is a promising young wing in the NBA? You mean our new rookie matched up with him most of the night? But I thought he couldn't possible guard 3s...

Listen - I love Isaac Jones. I absolutely think he deserves more shot to play than he got last year, and I think he will be successful as a rotation player. But saying "As for three-point shooting, he hit 37.5%, better than Murray, Lyles, DeRozan, Monk, Fox, and Huerter, in that order..." is...

I think it works, according to Spotrac, if the Kings also absorb Buddy into the Huerter TPE. Then you can take on Kuminga at $25M (counting as $12.5M outgoing for the Warriors) with the additional $9M for Buddy making it work numbers wise. Not crazy about bringing Buddy back, but that works...
