5-time NBA champion Tim Duncan retires after 19 seasons

in the time Duncan anchored the Spurs defense, they had two years, in which they didn't have a top10 defense, three, in which they didn't have a top5 defense (which includes the two times out of the top10) and, if I didn't miscount, 6 years in which they weren't top2. that's legendary stuff. the...

[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (TDOS)

I've seen nothing to indicate that he's an incompetent assistant coach. clearly overmatched as a headcoach, but as long as he's not the one to instil his "there are no stars" philosophy or is the one deciding on rotations, any given NBA team should be fine with him on the bench.

    [2016] The Finals

great game by Kyrie, game winner and everything, LeBron James with another incredible performance, and when the spotlight was brightest, Kevin Love with the crucial defense against Curry to seal it (is a sentence I would not have expected to ever need to type out). altogether congrats to...

well, there's the whole thing with the intercontinental travel that has to be sorted out, but sure, I'll be right on that, sir! (your official sanctioning as a mod protects me from any legal ramifications, correct? I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that)

    [2016] The Finals

well, a) there didn't seem to be any indication of a joke in the original post, b) this didn't feel like any sort of contentious argument, the other poster clarified, I acknowledged that I misunderstood both parties moved on. which brings me to c) why on earth would you bring it up again? it's...

    [2016] The Finals

best case scenario: Tristan Thompson's switchability on the perimeter, plus his rebounding, plus his p'n'r diving skills, plus rimprotection that Thompson doesn't have. I'm very optimistic about WCS' ceiling.

pretty impressed with Tristan Thompson, btw (as is pretty much everybody, I'm guessing). his contract is going to look like a bargain, after whatever the hell is going to happen this offseason. cap set at 94M$, it's going to get weird.

she has no contract with the NBA. the NBA has no jurisdiction over her whatsoever. if they could fine her, they could also fine any run of the mill fan for stupid tweets. not a world I'd want to live in.

though it may be a contentious hire, as far as local rivalries are concerned, I'm very happy about whom the Blazers got as a replacement: http://forwardcenter.net/calabro-joins-trail-blazers-as-new-television-play-by-play-announcer/

    [2016] The Finals

standard joke on twitter last night: "this is so rigged, the refs are clearly hurting the Warriors by calling all these fouls on Love." only topped by: "when the Cavs build a statue of Richard Jefferson, it should be of him getting off the bench, as Love sits down."

    [2016] The Finals

generally not a fan of Schadenfreude as a concept, but when you think about it: Green's suspension in game 5 has not only lead to them not having Bogut for the rest of their season, but now also probably the loss of Iggy (he looked invalid for most of the second half), and possibly even a...

Western Conference Finals: #1 Warriors vs. #3 Thunder

funnily, said player is one of the architects of this Warriors team, so you can actually place some of the blame directly at his feet.
