OK, the poll is up! We only get so many slots so I picked and chose - sorry, Löw, that all of your suggestions aren't on there. Let's see where the interest lies!
Quickley is...just not that special. Not a great defender, doesn't have special size, pretty good shooter but that's about it. I have trouble seeing him as ever being a top-15 PG and he's on the books for $32.5M for four more years. I'm not sure that's a great piece for a tanking team...
Sure, but he's a step down from Domas.
At any rate, I think I've been pretty consistent on this but I'll say it again: trading Domas means FULL TEARDOWN AND REBUILD. There is no "suddenly we're a playoff team", and there is no "let's try for the play-in", it's full tank full time.
And in that...
Agreed, I wouldn't feel safe in getting him (if he were an absolute target) beyond that - maybe not even there depending on other teams. That #16 from Orlando that they don't have anymore would have felt more comfortable.
Either way, there will be some value in the draft in the 20s for teams...
OK, interest level right now is five...I'll give it a day or two, maybe a few more suggestions come up, and then I'll throw a poll to see what people are most interested in drafting, see if we can get 8-10 to play
