KINGS PICKING 4TH IN 2022 NBA DRAFT!

"And with the fourth pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings select...Marvin Bagley the Third, from Duke! ...Wait, can they DO that?!?"

KINGS PICKING 4TH IN 2022 NBA DRAFT!

To be honest, my imagination would be pretty pumped if we took Sharpe at #4. Even with Ivey as a positional no-go, this looks like a four-player draft to me, with Murray the "safety" consolation prize if workouts with Sharpe go poorly.

KINGS PICKING 4TH IN 2022 NBA DRAFT!

I don't know. The top 3 usually haven't had any huge shocks recently. Sometimes there are 4-5 guys that are competing for top 3, but I'd say the last time somebody made a surprise move into the top 3 was probably Jaylen Brown going at #3 in 2016 when a lot of mocks had him in the #7-8 range...

I'm with you on this one. Holmgren's numbers say "Take Me #1". His body says, "Ummmm...." I mean, if you had a crystal ball that said Holmgren was going to play 12 years in the NBA with no serious injuries ("Stats? Fuzzy. MPG? Fuzzy. All-star appearances? Championships? Fuzzy") then you...

    Fox and/or #4 Trade Ideas

When you call it a "move up", then usually you don't count the swapped pick as "given up". So they'd be giving up #20 and a "lottery pick" that has already been taken and whom they've had two years to evaluate. If you consider that Sharpe/Ivey are seen by many as potential franchise-altering...

    Trading the pick.

OKC has 22 picks in the next 4 years. I don't think they want more picks. They *might* do it for Richaun, but at this point even OKC must understand that the rules aren't "he who dies with the most picks wins".

Likely, but still not a bad idea to keep the meeting, particularly if there is a thought of trading down.

Looking ahead to the 2022 Draft

"Foundational piece" seems way out of the range of what a team should expect/hope to get in the 15-25 range. If you get a solid rotation guy, you should be happy.

Harris wasn't undumpable this year because he's horrible, he was undumpable because he's on a really bad contract (averages more than $39M per year for two more years). Harris's play is solid and I'd be surprised to find a team picking under 10 or so that would scoff at getting Harris's career...

    NBA Draft Lottery

I can see that. It does look a bit like he "gamed" the system, but it's not like it was wholly unethical or something. I can see that being a dark cloud for a UK fan, but for an NBA scout? The way I see it, he followed the rules, he saw an opening that looked useful, UK was OK with it, and he...

    NBA Draft Lottery

Is there? If I understand he was technically graduated from high school and at a "prep" and then decided to re-class and go to Kentucky in the middle of this school year. But as he wasn't up to speed with UK, he and Cal decided not to play him, with both parties originally saying he'd play at...

Yeah, a bunch of the combine measurements are out already. Mathurin is at 6'4.5" barefoot, 6'6" shoes, 6'9" wingspan, 8'8" standing reach.

Looking ahead to the 2022 Draft

He's short for his bulk, but the league isn't really a height-means-everything league at this point. I mean, Draymond is a perfect example of that - he's not a wing either. Liddell has skill and he's actually pretty athletic, so he'll find a way to make it happen.

On the other hand, Liddell dropped a 35.5" standing/38" max vert, so that'll make up for quite a bit.

So if I didn't miss them, we don't get anthro measurements on Smith/Holmgren/Banchero/Ivey/Murray? We did get them on Sharpe, so he must not be real confident of being a top-5 guy.
