    New article on Reke/Jimmer

I'm really surprised to see you of all people say that. I don't recall any instance where Beno shied away from taking a clutch shot. He typically deferred to Tyreke because those were the plays that Westphal drew up at the end of games, but I remember numerous shots taken by Beno in clutch...

has geoff petrie been eyeing jimmer for awhile?

Wow I can't believe I missed this thread. There should be a new subboard titled "Legendary Threads" and this one should should be stickied on it.

Your thoughts on the Kings rebuild...

Agreed, and that's exactly my problem with the whole concept behind this rebuild. The Kings are getting young and talented players and providing them with zero coaching. A lot of the questions regarding Tyreke would've been answered by now, had he gotten adequate guidance. I can't be optimistic...

Your thoughts on the Kings rebuild...

I agree, and what I'm saying is that imo the Kings currently have no one to fill that role. Also, there is too much citing of Phil Jackson's Lakers and Bulls in this conversation. Unless we are getting PJ as a coach, which obviously we are not, these teams are just irrelevant to this...

Your thoughts on the Kings rebuild...

Oh you mean Dennis Johnson and Magic Johnson (the guy who defined the PG position for the modern basketball era)? Yea, those two weren't point guards...

    Hickson and Dally For Bosh?

If I'm Miami I do this in a heartbeat, but if I'm Orlando not so much. Even though on paper it's the best value they can get for Howard, they would be dooming themselves to at least five years where the furthest they can possibly get would be the ECF. No one will be able to stop a team with...

Your thoughts on the Kings rebuild...

In regard to Jimmer, I didn't say he can't be a conventional PG in the NBA, I said that from what I read it doesn't sound like he can be an elite PG, or in other words he can't be the Kings' long term answer as the starting PG if they want to become a contender some day. I may be wrong, but...

    Hickson and Dally For Bosh?

Some guy writes a far-fetched not-happening-a-million-years trade suggestion, then some other guy writes a column in some crappy website calling the trade suggestion a "rumor". A thread gets made on kingsfans.com...

Your thoughts on the Kings rebuild...

Whatever it was they were trying to run, it was executed so poorly that it can't be used as justification to exclude a more-or-less traditional PG from the Kings' future plans. Both those teams were coached by Phil Jackson (and ofcourse had MJ/Pippen and Kobe/Shaq). No other coach in the NBA...

Your thoughts on the Kings rebuild...

I'll try to break my response down coherently, since I am too lazy to make small quotes: About the Kings offense, for the large part of Westphal's tenure with the Kings, the offense consisted of one guy dribbling and four other guys standing around trying to figure out what he wants to do. Now...

Your thoughts on the Kings rebuild...

In the last three decades (possibly more, but I'm not too informed about basketball before 1980), with only a few exceptions, all NBA champions either played the Triangle or had an elite PG. Just because the Kings don't fit either of those descriptions is no reason to dismiss the importance of...

If we don't re sign Dalembert?

If I'm not mistaken, teams can match offers for their RFAs regardless of their cap situation, at least according to the current CBA. So if they intend to match any offer for Gasol, cap is not an issue and they can retain him if they wish to do so.

Trade TYREKE for D. HOWARD + Trade #7 for Tony Parker!!!! Championship!!!!!

On paper it's a good deal for Orlando, but they would essentially be handing the Eastern Conference title to Miami (their division rivals) for the next 5-6 years. I don't care who they put around LeFlop, no team in the east is getting past a team with a frontcourt of Dwight and Bosh, with Wade...

    Dwight Howard :)

Howard's supporting cast was far worse than LeFlop's. And yes, I know he's not Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem, or Kareem or Bill Russell for that matter, but he is by far the best big man in the game today, and he is the perfect piece to build a contending team around. If Miami traded LeFlop straight up...
