De'Aaron Fox Traded to Spurs for Zach Lavine, three first round picks

On a very small sample size, he shot .083 on 1-12 his rookie year. This year he is shooting .429 on a very small 3-7 sample size. He shoots .429!!!!

His more extensive G-League experience has him just a touch under .300 over three years. Not a disaster, needs work, for a guy who is 20, that could come around.
He’s got the size and tools to be a rotation player. I remember during the draft he was a hot name to take with a 2nd round pick a couple of years ago. Baja had him ranked #31 on his big board.

Could become a defensive stopper with his measurable.

I can’t think of a better situation for him than to develop in Stockton, where the Kings have a very good farm system.

So maybe this has been answered, but I can't find it - Where the Kings sit right now, what do we have available cap wise/exception wise WITHOUT moving Lyles? I'd be down for a couple seconds to pick up Jonas Valančiūnas and something for a wing defender.

I watched him a bit on Ignite, thought he had a bit of potential. Obviously still has a lot to put together, but good defensive effort, plays hard, looks smooth from time to time. I don't imagine he'll get much time with us this year unless he forces his way into the rotation with D, but he's got another year to show us something.

Jonas would fit into either one of our larger trade exceptions. I'd be all over that, or Portis for that matter. But either one would put us bumping up on the apron, so the wing defender might be a bit tough to fit.

I think Jonas is the guy to go get for me. Such a good team friendly contract, just 100% secure the back-up C slot so we can dial back Domas minutes to a more mangeable 32-34 a game. And just let one of these young guys go and try and win the wing spot: IC, IJ, Colby Jones, Cissoko.

AND it's a three-year deal with the third year unguaranteed. Such a team-friendly contract for a backup big. For a couple of seconds, it would be a straight steal.

The Spurs and Klutch have been scheming to get D Fox to San Antonio all year. How is this not tampering when they are doing it out in the open?

I mean really, the Spurs should be stripped of a draft pick for tampering and it should be awarded to the Kings. How can the NBA turn a blind eye to this blatant tampering?
I think players are allowed to do whatever the hell they want as long as there is no direct contact with an opposing FO. Silver doesn't care because players don't conspire to go to undesirable markets.

No idea if Simmons is even playable but I wouldn’t be surprised if we take a look at him given prior interest. If he’s a cheap pickup that could add length rebounding and defense to the bench. And maybe he’d prefer a small market but who knows
While I have been very critical of picking up players like Simmons and Zion due to inability to stay available, that was also in relation to the contracts they have (and associated anticipated role on the team). If we can pick one up for a vet min or something, now that's completely different.

oh people are rapidly coming to that conclusion. I mostly pissed about it because Sacramento has limited other sports viewing options.

the only one we have is run by a totally incompetent front office.
Go get season tix to the A's or the RiverCats. We love catching a RiverCats game from time to time. Our son works there, too. Sounds like current RiverCats employees may get first shot at similar A's job openings, so he may work both team's games.

They way Jonas is playing Sabonis minutes should be at 30-32 just keep him fresh

I don’t think anyone would be willing to give up a first like we would for Jonas ;)

Lebron has been tampering for 15 years with klutch they don’t care hell Dallas just gave lebron a top 3 player and the deal was negotiated by Rob Plinka and his alleged close friend
