De'Aaron Fox Traded to Spurs for Zach Lavine, three first round picks

God some people. This trade is excellent. We got a player that's locked long term who is litteralu just as good as fox but in a position of more need. We got bigger just like everyone wanted, got rid of hueter, and got 3 1st. No matter how you slice it that's a freakin win.

And no we don't need to trade deebo
Deebo could be traded, I would say the chance of that increased with Lavine coming back since he can be our closer instead of Deebo

So as far as the picks are concerned, Kings get:

Effectively, then, Kings get three second round picks for this year, one 1st round SAS pick in 2027 (probably going to be very low), two second rounders in 2028 and a 1st rounder from MIN six years from now. Does that sum it up correctly?
If what is being reported is correct, and going on the assumption that the CHA 25 pick does not convey, we get:

FRPs:
SAS 27
MIN 31

SRPs:
CHI 25
CHA 26
CHA 27
DEN 28
SAC 28

To be fair, the Spurs completely made out like bandits here. They got Fox and only sent out Collins and one first that *might* be great, and a bunch of only OK picks. But it's just that we didn't get fleeced because we managed to get LaVine out of it. The Bulls are rebuilding and wanted to get off that salary, great. They didn't get a whole ton of stuff except salary relief though.

This is what pisses me off.
The team that gave up the least ended up with the most. We had the best trade chip in a 3 team deal and we act like we’re up against it. If spurs don’t want of part with one of their young players, then they don’t get our all star pg in his f’ing prime.

Klutch be Klutch'n

The more I think about it, the more I hate this trade. I'm wishing nothing but evil on Fox for screwing over this fanbase with his SA or nothing BS, and I'm going to troll the hell out of the Spurs fanbase when Wemby leaves them for the Lakers at the end of his rookie deal.

The kings got worked, again. But I’m not mad, cause I fully expected it.

I'd add to it that the Kings didn't burn any of their own on win now, pointless, make Fox happy moves either. The cupboard is stocked. The team is still talented. There's high potential youth still. This is how it's done when the chicken salad must be made.

Your crazy id take Zack and day over som unproven rookie shooting worse from 3 than Lin

they were good when all three of their guys were healthy
Hey, I’m all for being proven wrong. But we have to recognize that we have completely abandoned defense at this point apart from a select couple of players, which isn’t nearly enough. Cam makes a lot of sense to me as opposed to DeRozan, but our game plan is clearly going to be score the ball, a lot. Interesting decision given Christie’s preference for defense first. Might be a sign he’s not the long term solution.

Once that pick to the Hawks conveys this season, we’ll finally have a surplus of first round picks for the first time in like a decade.

Ok then why was 90% of the board dissing people in June when we were throwing out trades for Lavine involving barnes/huerter? I like Lavine but the switch up is insane and we can’t start monk/lavine/derozan

Statistically, LaVine is playing out of his mind this year, just need him healthy.

24ppg 4.5apg 4.8rpg on 51.1/44.6/79.7

This trade is basically Fox for LaVine, 2 1st round picks, and a bunch of 2nd rounders.

Honestly, not bad at all because I don't think there were many suitors for Fox. Doesn't really seemed like any other team was serious about him... should kinda tell you about his value around the league.
If Kings got this year's LaVine this is a very good haul. Also players tend to actually give a crap after being traded so reasonable to expect Zach to maintain that kind of production

I mean…this would fit the narrative of the league trying to get its next big thing in a better position to go deeper in the playoffs if your of the tin foil hat ilk. ;)

Because Lavine’s fit next to Fox would’ve been terrible but his fit next to Domas is freaking great (offensively)

Unbelievable, no matter what, it's clear people where going to complain.

Short of trading Fox for Luka or Greek there was no pleasing people.

Fox's frame and style of play does not bold well for longevity. Trust me we got thr best out of fox. He's already slowing down he gets stripped everytime he drives to the paint and does take contact thats why he don't get to the ft line. He's not built for it.

We wom this. Sabonis is a much better pick and roll player than Wimbleton and he barley utilized it. Zack gonna be a flame thrower
