Amick: De’Aaron Fox requests trade

I am not watching many Spurs game besides occasional Wemby highlight and when they play Kings
Can anyone explain what's their obsession with Castle so far?Stats are pretty meh, especially shooting

I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. Very athletic, good handles at 6'6" (with good NBA body). Looks for his shot (slashing to deep) but looks for teammates to set-up too. From all indications at UCONN and now as a pro very coachable, likeable. Some question if Castle combo guard rather than lead/point guard. At this point at age 20 call him part of modern NBA, position-less player. Video highlights from Paris, France recently.

I'd take this if it were clearly the BEST offer on the table. I don't really like the fact that the Chicago pick is not guaranteed, though.
The Chicago pick went to San Antonio as a protected pick already, so it's not like the proposal is adding a protection onto it. But obviously it cannot be a great pick, as it's top-10, top-8, top-8 protected. It probably doesn't convey this year unless CHI sneaks into the playoffs via the play-in. I'd rather have the MIN 31 pick, which is unprotected and with a little luck could be huge, but that's a gamble.

Highlights like this are why Castle is a must-get in a SAS trade. Shooting percentages like 40% from the field and 26% from three are why the Spurs can't refuse to include him.

The history of our franchise would look different if we were in the east
I look at these standings and I see a compelling argument that we would be in much better shape if we'd spent the last 3 years chasing after the #1 rated defense instead of the #1 rated offense. And also, if De'Aaron Fox is smart he will try to force his way to Orlando not San Antonio. There's also no state income tax in Florida and the Magic have the #3 rated defense and #29 rated offense. It's a perfect situation for him to thrive in.

the idea of Monte leaking makes no sense to me. He basically says nothing in interviews, even in long form. Maybe it’s Wes, I couldn’t even tell you what he looks like and I’ve never heard him speak. Or maybe it’s some gossiping part owner that likes telling people insider info. Or maybe half of it is not true? Or most of it?
That’s the crazy thing about all of this. Apparently Wes is in charge of trades + business, and i don’t even know what he looks like

Boy, a healthy Magic team is already killing people. That squad with Fox would be SCARY

Maybe I’m just missing it, but it’s amusing through all of this I have yet to hear a national media member or “expert” mention Fox’s hand/finger issues right now. Nobody thinks it’s relevant, for at least the rest of this year, for the team looking to acquire him? People really don’t actually watch the Kings do they?
No, but the front offices of other teams do. I would not be surprised if that fact were being used against them in negotiations. Which makes it imperative that Fox keep playing the next few games before the deadline.

together they make enough money to trade for Brad Beal!
Huerter is Monte’s biggest fault in my opinion. Thought that was obvious after his no show in the first round of the Warriors series.
A 17 million dollar man that is still likely costing us a first and we might have to include trading Fox to unload. Meanwhile teams like Dallas have got actual contributors with size for less.
