Ayton seems to be a bad matchup for Sabonis, so the Blazers are a team that Len should play against
Any team that you are attempting to stop in the paint? Yes. Again, I think the Kings have to be a team that plays up in the opposing team rather than helping down low or being a team that routinely plays drop and funnels the drive into the big at the rim. You can do that with Len, not with Domas. No way. Tonight was an extreme example of how bad it can be but it's probably closer to the norm than not

I’m curious, how do y’all handle losses like this? Do you just turn off the tv and let it go? Does it linger? Slightly irritated but it doesn’t ruin your night? It ruins your night and you feel good next day? I’m always curious how other fans fan
This one is easy for me to let go. The Kings are banged up and looked out of sorts offensively for the whole game. Portland is a young team with something to prove who just blitzed us with high energy defense and a steady stream of pick and rolls. Also... DeAndre Ayton is a very large man and this Kings roster is noticeably lacking in both size and athleticism in the front court so watching him go off against us was about as surprising as water being wet.

The games that linger for me are the single possession loses, the blown 4th quarter leads, and any time the intervention of officiating seems to irreparably swing the momentum against the Kings. Playing so horribly on both ends that we lose by 9 to a team that shoots the three ball even worse than we do is perhaps more damaging to my self-confidence as a fan, but I've already had an hour to mentally process it since it was clear mid-way through the 3rd quarter that the Kings did not have it tonight. So by the final whistle all I can do is turn off the game and hope someone in the Kings organization -- be it the players, coaches, or front office -- has the mental fortitude to clean up this mess.

mad at the players for turning the ball over, not defending dribble drives, no mental toughness. He said there were 10 50/50 balls and we got 1. Said plenty of guys concerned about their offense but none on defense. Super irritated and clearly didn’t want to answer more questions
He eventually has to realize that the only way to stop pick and roll drives is pressing up on help. NOT DOWN! His defense has been figured out. It is what it is. The end of last year and the changes made were the way to go. That's proven now.

I had a fun night and don’t care anymore. Scarlet K or L on my forehead.

I met Warhawk in the concourse at halftime and by the time I got back to my seat 4 mins into the third game was out of hand. I had a drink waiting for me at my seat and just said f it have fun.

I don't watch the whole game when I sense a loss coming. Seldom am I wrong. I can't stand watching this version of the Kings lose to taller more athletic players. Teams have figured out that playing your young tall/long ball hawks is the way to beat the Kings.

Turnovers are probably what is killing us the most. Which is really frustrating as most are unforced.

I'm so embarrassed I just apologized to a Kings fan living in Oregon. And they have better beer than we do. How can I apologize to a region with better beer?
It’s ok I am itching to go back to London and drink the cider there lol. Love the beer here but after 20 years and getting older I just like something I can sip on and not get pre-dad me levels of wasted.

Kings will be fortunate to be a play in team this season with the injuries, inability to build any cohesion with the new addition and the lack of size and bulk. so unfortunate that the pick this season that could of been another building block may be going to ATL. Glad I didn't purchase league pass this season.

Keegan Murray looks lost but his blank expression never changes anyway. Blazers outscored Kings 64-34 in the paint! Murray besides continuing terrible shooting not much help inside. Kings defense non-existent as ever and now the offense looks out of sorts. Fox ball dominate superstar guard but this is ridiculous depending on him to constantly bail Kings out of holes. Monk tried his best to help DeAaron tonight off the bench. Things could get worse before they get better. Speaking of beer have some more!

at least Isaac looks solid- if he starts hitting the 3 like in stockton he ll be a nice player potentially. hopefully they continue giving him minutes this year even when lyles is back.
I like the idea of maybe bringing DDR off the bench. it could balance out the lineups- its not like he usually scores much at the start of games anyways.

it would allow fox to do his thing unitterupted and makes the bench scarier. Not sure who they start tho if they did that? Huerter? Crowder? Isaac? Lyles?

Team is pretty dissapointing this year tho.ive turned off like 6 or 7 games out of apathy. I dunno, something big needs to change with the team and sooner then later.

What was the mood on the Kings bench like after the game? Were guys sulking, yelling at each other, laughing it off?

So missed both Minn and Port…. We are 1/4 through the season. What is your verdict
The big win in Minnesota felt like the high point of the season so far and tonight's loss felt like the low point. It's hard to really say who this team is when there's that much variance from game to game. There have been some losses that should have been wins, a lot of injuries to rotation players, and eventually the shooting has to improve somewhat right? So there's reason to believe this is a better than .500 team when healthy, but perhaps not by much. Without roster changes I think this is maybe a 45 win team.

On the positive side -- the defense this year has been better than it was in the 48 win season in 2022/2023. Trouble is we're down just over 5 points per game from that season's league-leading offense (which would have ranked 2nd last year and 3rd currently this year -- still in elite territory). Poor 3pt shooting accounts for a lot of that. We had Huerter and Murray both shooting over 40% from three that year plus Barnes at 37% and Monk at 36%. But it is worth noting that the Kings 2022/2023 offense managed to score that league-leading 120.7 ppg with only 13.8 3PM per game, a number which would rank them 13th this season. Which means there is some precedent to the idea that the Kings could have an elite offense with 2/3 of their points coming from 2pt FG and FTs. They've already done it before with mostly the same roster.

I dont even think it has anything to do with most of that, this team can't get out of its own way with stupid turn overs and pee poor shooting from 3 and the ft line. Every problem they have is self created. It is the most baffling thing.

Once more I don't like the fact that he just had a quick mention that he is the one to blame as well (for a couple of seconds only) and then just blaming the players non stop. How about his rotation, all those quick subs after quick subs after quick subs despite the team doing "ok" in the start of the game even though there were those turnovers? Couldn't he be so frustrated during the game and not after it ended during those timeouts? Like I wrote earlier he looked "chill" and he has been looking chill all season long unlike his first season that he was "living" the game and was communicating with the players all 48 minutes long in offense and defense.

Watching the action up close, we were sloppy but for Brown to say 3/4s of them were unforced doesn’t give credit to the Blazers on-ball pressure. Banton was hounding Ellis and Fox all first half. He and Camara made it really tough just to cross half court and then try to initiate the offense. We got Sabonis some 3s early in the 1st. But after that, aside from some open Monk 3s, we didn’t have a whole lot of easy looks. We had a nice play coming out of a timeout where we got a bucket off a backdoor to Isaac and that felt like one of the few set plays we had. Just felt like Blazers knew how best to disrupt us and we didn’t have a good response

It was hard to see during the game as I was on the opposite side of the stanchion and would have to peek around to see what was going on (if Kev came back, whatever) but I don't think I've ever seen the team clear off the floor as fast as they did tonight. I had my son take a pic of me on the floor with a pouty face and thumbs down. No chance to see if we could fist bump a player or anything. Kind of a bummer. Have same seats for the next game so maybe better luck next time?
