[Game] (Preseason) Sacramento Kings at LA Clippers, 10/17/2024 7:30 pm Pacific, 10;30 pm Eastern (League Pass)

Yeah I really like what he brings to the team, but that's always been my biggest complaint about him. In our starting lineup that lacks shooting, he can't afford to ever pass up open looks. A struggling 30% shooting Huerter will keep defenses a lot more honest than a hesitating Keon who shoots 40%
I suspect Mike Brown might've wanted him to try to develop a driving game... maybe that's why he seems hesitatant, even though it was one of his best weapons last season shooting those behind-Domas-screen 3 pts.

The amount of completely wide open shots we’ve had this preseason has been impressive. The rate at which we’ve then gone on and bricked them, doubly impressive.
I still maintain that this preseason would have been 200% less dramatic if the Kings were at least shooting remotely close to average splits. These scores look lopsided because the other team is shooting okay to slightly less than average while the Kings are shooting like half the percentage that they should be shooting.

Mason has had a possible career altering preseason. All the good will he earned in Stockton and summer league just gone in a flash. His two-way spot might be gone in a few days at this point.
Unfortunately, for Mason, a good attitude and a hard work cannot substitute for natural talent and an IQ for the game. I like the guy personally, but he’s kind of been a disaster on the court.

12-44 from 3. Three of those makes were by guys that won’t see the floor and one of them was a last second banked three by Derozan. Keegan had an awful preseason from 3 and continued the trend of either making a high percentage or making zero or one. I can’t remember how many times he made one or zero in a game last year but it was an insane amount. He has to correct that. We cant surround DDR/Domas/Fox with that level of shooting.

When you look at a player and you can't define what they are, especially a guard, that's a tough road. Hustle alone can no longer keep you in the NBA unless it comes with something else like rebounding, defense, or size.
