It's just the norm of NBA teams to play down to their competition. Every team does it.. just good teams does it less.

OK, this is a pretty telling thing here. Yeah, when the Kings get wrecked they don't easily shake it off. This kind of has the same feel of the 2nd game against the Pels after getting blasted by them the game before. You can see the Kings thinking too much.

Well your best player can’t have 5 points at half time. You can’t miss your free throws. Our offense is three, fade away mid range shots from Monk and bully ball Sabonis. Detroit might cool off a bit from three but we are getting killed when someone besides Sabonis guards Duren and we have no answer for Sasser.
