On Sunday, December 31, 2023, The Memphis Grizzlies welcomed the Sacramento Kings to their fine city, and inside of their fine venue.

Little did they know, at that time, that we was bringing THE BEAM along with us.

4 quarters, 48 minutes (of game time), and approximately 2.5 hours later, what they didn't know heading into the game they most definitely knew leaving the building that night.

A few stats from that night...

Monk: 27 points
Fox: 24 points
Sabonis: 13 points, 21 rebounds, 12 assists
Sacramento Kings: 31 point win
Memphis Grizzlies: Let's not even go there

Let's do that all over again - how does that sound, Kings fans?????

For our dear friend, @SLAB, LIGHT THAT BEAN!!!

Ja Morant is out for the rest of the season. Maybe he will join a church in his spare time. Luke Kennard, a tough competitor against the Kings, is also out.

Sasha Vezenkov might play--"game-time decision."

Still no trade moves. I trust Mr. McNair to do the right thing and not mortgage the house for an expiring contract. Meanwhile, Juan Anderson-Toscano has hit the end of his second ten-day contract, which expired yesterday, or possibly today, if he inked the first one on January 10.

For all of the complaining over the years about how the NBA screws us with a "tough" schedule, we are set up incredibly on this 7 game road trip. It's obviously a long trip, but can't complain about this schedule:

Warriors on the second night of back to back
Mavs on the second night of back to back
Grizzlies on the second night of back to back
Heat - both teams rested
Pacers on the second night of back to back
Bulls -- kings on second night of back to back
Cavs - both teams rested

They should. This is the Kings third road trip of 5 or more games this season. That is a lot btw.

Don't call it a trap game. I think the team fully knows they can't drop this game. MB in his presser similarly saying this is group of young guys who are all gonna be playing ferociously in their NBA opportunities

Would be nice to see us get Keegan some early 3’s. Set some plays and screens and get him back in sniper mode, though i love seeing him do everything else on the court - i have a feeling we’re gonna need his shooting soon, and getting Keegan in a rhythm would be awesome in a game like this where he doesn’t necessarily have to key in on their best player, defensively.

If you are at the end of the bench and all of a sudden get to play big minutes, you are going to play your heart out. They all have talent and they all want to perform.

Unexpectedly this could be a tough game. You have a bunch of guys fighting for a spot in the NBA. Naturally they will play super hard and they will be unpredictable.
