I mean, Barnes might be checked out, but I've seen him head to the locker room when taken out of the game twice now (once last night, once tonight) so there's a decent chance he's not physically right and the team just isn't saying anything.
if that’s the case we have seen enough to know he is hurting more than helping us. Might be time to rest him. Or if it’s a mojo thing maybe a short bursts off the bench might be best until he comes back around.

one other thing to consider is maybe the intense practices and wind sprints have worn him out already? We have all noticed that he gets weak legs after a heavy work load * see after last seasons hot start.

That Barnes and 2023 IND 2nd for Jae Crowder and PJ Washington trade is looking better by the minute
Give PJ 1 shot in a game and if you think Barnes brings no impact, lol. Brown is using Barnes primarily to collapse the defense off the catch. He needs to be spot shooting. Maybe that will bring some life back to him.

Part of it is a role change. They just aren't factoring him into the offense and when he does look to make a play he looks disinterested. Stick him in the corner and tell him to shoot when he gets it. They obviously want him to drive off the catch but while it has opened up other shots, it's not helping his game at all.
But why does that impact his FT%?

It’s a small sample size so I’m not hitting the panic button yet but even his 3PT misses look ugly compared to his misses last year.

Steph is unreal. Defense matters to an extent but sometimes best players of all time don’t care. On another note, Harrison Barnes is done. He looks completely uninterested on both sides of the court. Wish we had moved him last season. At this point I don’t know what we get for him.
Something's off - no doubt about that. "Completely uninterested"? You've paid no attention to the guy if you think that's part of his DNA.

I suspect an undisclosed injury he's trying to play thru.

He's an in the flow type of player. That could partly be it. IF it's not physical, it's mental and there is no more mental a part of the game than the free throw line. I think we got so used to Barnes carrying the team early, and maybe he as well, that this is a new thing for him.

Barnes for a second and those two scrubs from Boston looks good at this point.
Boston shipped those scrubs long ago, didn't they?

*eta - pretty sure I saw one of them show up on those "soon to be out of the league" youtuber videos.

Offense
1. Entire team except fox and sabonis just pass it around the perimeter and jack up a 3.

2. Sabonis gets the ball in the paint and spins left, spins right, waits for 3 defenders and by then it doesn't matter. Oh and his 3 pt shot he spent all summer working on looks almost as bad as Barnes' shot.

3. Fox is the only player who gets in the paint and makes something positive happen. He is second in ppg in NBA in a new system with teammates that make horrble decisions (see #1 and #2).

Offense doesn't look especially great, but good shooters can make almost anything work.

But in a half where the Kings score 71 and give up 89, you just might be focusing on the wrong end of the floor.
