And yet, the year they made the playoffs, Evans led the team in games played, and Holiday missed half of the season. So... figure that out?

Well, Pelicans did reasonably well without Davis: 24-37 with him and 6-15 without. Even with Tyreke at almost full strength Pels were still 11-14.

I feel like a case could be made that Evans wasn't close to full strength, all season long, particularly given that they were 43-36 with him the season before, since you're throwing records out.

I'll have to go back and watch the final part of the game but I didn't see anything like what the Kings ran.

Under Karl the Kings funneled the ballhandler to the middle, trailed on the screen and sagged the big.

The Thunder had their on-ball defender fight over the screen while the big either hedged or trapped/blitzed. The Thunder were focused on not letting the ballhandler get a clean look. The Kings didn't do that well.

What was interesting to me in last nights game was that whenever Kanter had to jump out on the perimeter he struggled. Curry embarrassed him with two (I think consecutive) threes. But then they stopped going at him in the pick and roll. Donovan made the switch to always have Adams defending down low but still, the Dubs should've gotten more good outside looks from going at Kanter.

I don't have a rooting interest in this series (if pushed I'd probably say OKC) so I'm just hoping for fun games. And last night was a really fun game.
Ya I'm kind of rooting for the underdog thunder also.

How on earth are the Thunder throttling the Warriors in this series? Billy Donovan? Westbrook sharing the ball? Efficiency? Defense?

Maybe the era of small ball winning championships wasn't as long as we all expected it to be? I know it's still early, I can't count the Warriors out but it will be very telling if the Thunder win this series. OKC has a huge team at every position.

Anybody catch Green kicking Adams in the nuts and only getting a flagrant 1 for it? Most of you know here that I'm not a big DMC supporter but I'd be willing to bet that if DMC did that he gets ejected and probably suspended for a game.

Well ... they seem to believe it was inadvertent because he was flailing about

Well, yeah, of course that's what Green and the Warriors will say. IMO, that is not a natural basketball move. I think he's a knucklehead and just had a moment where he snapped against a player who has been getting under his skin this series.

There is zero doubt in my mind that if this was a deep rotational player the NBA would have already announced a 1 game suspension. Let's see if the NBA does the right thing...

funny enough, sparing green from an ejection may have only aided the thunder in victory. after the flagrant 1 was assessed, draymond green wasn't the same player on the court. he turned in an awful performance thereafter, and finished the game at -43!! i think it's fair to say he hurt the warriors more than he helped through the second half...

that said, your point is well-taken. it's quite clear to me that nba referees are at least subconsciously aware of the average nba fans' bias; a mouthy, high-maintenance personality on a good team is "fiery" and "passionate," while a similar kind of player on a bad team is "crazy" and "a cancer." the former is often insulated from criticism and is generally shielded from the stiffest of penalties for his actions, while the latter is a lightning rod for criticism and generally faces the stiffest of penalties for his actions. it will certainly be interesting to see if the nba levies a suspension against green...

Yeah it was bush league crap that should have been an F2,but I have to say that if Dramon Green has the most punchable face in the NBA Adams has the most kickable gonads... hate them both.

I like the way Adams plays. There aren't nearly enough tough guys like that in the league.

Better than Lebron who gets tapped on the mouth by his own teammate and slips and falls down like King Hippo in Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
Agreed on Adams. He is becoming one of my favorite players in the league just because he reminds me of a old school bruiser like player that gets under players skin and you can't seem to phase him no matter what. He is the type of player you need on your team to just defend and be a pest. Great find by OKC, as always.

I think I have a soft spot for Adams (no pun intended) in part because he's one of the most entertaining and engaging interviews in the NBA. No pretense and not much in the way of a filter.

He does play a Rodman/Laimbeer type game in terms of pushing the boundaries of what he can get away with in terms of physicality with opponents. But I appreciate that unlike Laimbeer & Rodman he doesn't whine or flop on the other end. A very rugby player like mentality that I hate when the Kings are playing the Thunder but love when seeing OKC play anybody else.

Oh, and that was a straight up and blatant kick to the kiwis. If Dahntay Jones gets a game for his hit on Biyombo then Green should be suspended for a game as well. Draymond landed with both feet and THEN jumped up again, swinging his right foot into Adam's groin. What else could he have possibly been trying to do with that move?

But of course he wont since we know how the NBA plays favorites.

I didn't have a horse in this race until the NBA announcement. Now, it's GO THUNDER! And I hope someone on OKC finds a way to kick Green in the family jewels while he's innocently just flailing around trying to draw a foul.

A flagrant 2 but no suspension? Just when I thought NBA officiating couldn't stoop any lower they went and proved me wrong again.

That is a pure unmitigated pile of bullcrap.
It hurts to see the hypocrisy on the part of the league. Just feels bad.

It would not make the championship trophy require an asterisk. It would not constitute "the league office deciding a crucial game". Warriors would have had their fair chance to win game 4 without Green and more importantly they had fair chances not to lose two games already.

The decision just plain sucks.
