DMC with message to fans

The league should be very worried. A motivated and excited Cousins is not something I would ever want to game plan against.

Yup.

Starting 5 (Cousins, Gay, Belinelli, McLemore, Rondo)
Bench (Kofos, WCS, Casspi, Collison)

The starting line up can change against different match ups, but the point is, our team will actually be 8-9 deep. Swap any of those 4 bench players in and there wouldn't be much of a drop off. From the recent tweets by Boogie, it looks like they will be able to work it out with Karl. Unless Karl just turns loco when they finally have their meeting. But really, they both need and want to win badly. Let's do this!

That is HUGE.

Boogie Tweeting "definitely" to a fan who asked if he wanted to stay in Sacramento was encouraging but not a definite commitment. It could be read as "definitely I plan to stay" or "definitely I want to be here but terrible moves are making it impossible" or anything in between.

I think we all had the feeling that Cousins would be happy with Vlade's moves and it's nice to see that is the case. For all the grief the national media has wanted to give the Kings and Vlade, especially about the Philadelphia deal, let's take a look at exactly what those moves could mean to their franchise big man:

The traded guys:
  • Landry, even without the injuries, was a guy who could only really play when Cousins sat and was not a good fit for Karl's offense. And a big contract keeping the team from having room to sign a player who is.
  • Thompson has been his frontcourt mate for a long time but JT has clearly been frustrated and his comments in interviews seem to indicate he and Cousins are not friendly off the court. It also means not having to watch Thompson complain to the refs.
  • Stauskas was a guy that Cousins reportedly rode all season long for not pulling the trigger, being aggressive or hitting his shots. I don't think they had any beef but Cuz is frustrated with having to wait for his help to develop.
The acquired guys:

  • Cousins wanted WCS in the draft. He's the athletic frontcourt mate he's never had
  • Koufos give the team a guy who can start at C moving Cuz to PF where he's said he wants to play
  • Rondo is a pass first PG that Boogie called the best in the NBA two offseasons ago
  • Bellinelli is hopefully the veteran shooter that Stauskas wasn't ready to be, in addition to having championship experience
  • Casspi is clearly a guy that gives the bench a lift, looked fantastic under Karl to finish the season and seems to have a good friendship with Cousins

Add in a healthy Moreland, anything James Anderson provides, any growth from Ben, continued ascension from Boogie himself, still having a solid wingman in Rudy, maybe one or two more small signings, a HOF coach who has almost always made the playoffs - usually with significantly less talent, finally (hopefully?) some longterm franchise stability under Vlade and one more season before moving to the new arena and it's easy to see why the big fella is hyped for next season.

So if the Kings built a roster that not only compliments their star player but one that makes him happy in an offseason where he was reportedly demanding a trade and all it will likely cost the team is a mid round draft pick in three years where exactly is all this criticism of the job Divac has done coming from?

I think with the frontcourt additions Boogies ascension into a true defensive anchor will show even more. Doesnt have to work as hard and just lets the game come to him. WCS could be the freaky defensive guy, but I believe that Cuz will mold into a Duncan/Marc cerebral anchor.

I'm certainly excited...there should be no reason why this team should not be competitive this year and be competing for a playoff spot. I am not saying that they will make the playoffs, but if they are not competing until the end for a spot then I consider that a failure. There are some good pieces that have been assembled...good role playing, defensive, winning players along with a proven, winning coach.

Hey Big Cuz don't worry, we're all in just like you! Now just seize the mantle, seize the moment as Kings team captain, leading us all to fantastic winning season. You and all Kings fans can't wait for 2015-16 season - GO KINGS!

Good.

Now everyone is on board and ready to get this thing rocking. Only questionable character in all this is Karl. He can either get on board and help put this all together or he can be given a golden boot out the door.

Hopefully DMC and Coach Karl can put their differences aside and man up and be professionals in all of this.

If DMC and Coach Karl can get on the same page, I think DMC will have the best years of his career under Karl.

GOOOOOOOOOOOO BOOGIE!!!

We love you!

Lineup.... Always Rondo, Boogie, and Rudy starting.

My favorites are;

Boogie - WCS - Rudy - Belinelli - Rondo
Koufos - Boogie - Rudy - Belinelli - Rondo
Boogie - Rudy - Belinelli - McLemore - Rondo

Always start Rondo - Rudy - DeMarcus... ALWAYS...

I think a very big point that is missing here with all the signings is that all 3 of the new players have significant playoff experience.

Two of them, rondo and bellilini played significant roles in two world championship teams.

I think that experience will pay off big dividends once crunch time and fighting for the playoffs occurs.

I'm sure dmc see the potential for greatness there too.
