DeAndre Jordan - Mavs or Clippers?

This could get very interesting....does anyone know if Mathews signed before DJ signed? If DJ returns to Clippers, Cuban may just say the hell with it, we pull our offer to Wes Mathews. It would do them no good to have the Mathews contract without a legit big man.....I believe Cuban said they would rebuild without a big signing.
I believe Mathews agreement was publicized first, but both were around the same time.

This is really fascinating I can imagine Doc, Paul and Griffin speeding to Deandre's house in a Jeep, meanwhile Cuban and Parsons are on motorcycles doing the same like a scene from Mad Max.
Blake apparently just posted emoji's of a plane, a helicopter and a recreational vehicle. I don't know if those conveyances are in his immediate plans, or if he's just making fun of the whole situation.

Silver can ask really nicely, but I don't think he can stop anyone from backing out.

The whole system puts teams at enormous risk and favors the players. Hedo Turkoglu backed out of a deal with the blazers to go to Toronto a few years back.
Yes. The Turkoglu situation is fairly comparable to what is going on now.

This is hilarious lol. I hope DJ goes back to LA so it doesn't make the Mavs playoff contenders anymore. Clips with both CP3 and Griffin would've always been contenders.

Where is Lance? so disrespectful for DJ...

Sources: Doc Rivers, Steve Ballmer, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce and JJ Redick are converging on Houston to meet with Jordan.
This is just so wrong, isn't there some unwritten code between NBA FO's that the Clippers are squatting all over? They should be black balled by the rest of the league.

Mavs fans better hope Wes Matthews holds up for an 82 game season! Cause if he doesnt.....thats a terrible team lol
Thats what I'm saying without Jordan you can argue they will be worse than the Blazers. At least the Blazers will have some younger healthy bodies to replace what they lost and still have Lillard at full strength. The Mavs top 3 players will be a 37 year old stand still shooter and two guys coming off of big injuries who are supporting stars at best.

If DJ goes back to LA not only does it confirm the Clippers as the biggest heels in the federation but it instantly turns Cuban and the Mavs into one of the top babyfaces, the mythical double turn.
Cuban's still a putz. Just because Wormtongue stabbed Saruman, it didn't make Saruman the hero.

Who's to say that teams can't back out of verbal agreements the same way? I wouldn't be surprised to see Dallas back out of the Matthews agreement if Jordan goes back to the Clippers
If this happens, they should do the same favor for Dirk that the Warriors did for David Lee.

Wouldn't that just be amazing?

I'm rooting for that. I don't really have anythign personal against Matthews, but, he did use us to squeeze more money out of Dallas.

I can't recall a team backing out. But theoretically I don't see why not. But I'm far from an expert on all the rules here. I know it's bad for business, but can they? Anyone know?

I just ran into Tyson Chandler in downtown Phoenix and welcomed him to the city. He's signing his deal with the Suns tomorrow I'm sure. Dallas is going to get screwed here and have nothing but Dirk and Charlie V to defend up front. Ouch.

So theoretically, if Jordan can back out, and the Mavericks can back out of their deal with Matthews, could we go all the way back to the Kings backing out of the Sixers deal, and we start this all over again? (I'm really happy with the way things turned out...I'm just throwing it out there.)

I think that if Jordan backs out, there's a real chance that Mark Cuban goes nuclear and does something very dramatic, just to make the NBA look stupid. I know, hard to believe. Apparently one of the wrinkles in all of this is that if they didn't get Jordan, Cuban said recently, they were blowing the roster up, and Carlisle said he wouldn't be coming back at that point. So there's all kinds of things in play here.

Anybody else feel bad for Dirk?

Last year's playoff run was scuttled by our very own Rondo. And now this?

This might be his final push... not that I'm saying The Mavs are a contender or anything, but DJ along with Mathews could have at least gotten them to the second round. Now they might not even make the playoffs.

I definitely don't feel bad for Cuban or Matthews though, and I do find this hugely entertaining, just lame that all of this is happening during what could be the final off-season for Dirk, an all-time great and class act.

Also.... of course Fegan is involved! F that guy! I still want to make him drink a bucket full of discarded bus stop heroin needles.
