Xbox 360 or PS3

Anyone here getting an Xbox 360 or PS3. My bro and I pre-ordered 360, and should be getting it on the 22nd. Will prolly pick up Nba Live 2006 "Next Gen" that day too, so I can start my Championship run with the Kings.

360 should be good, but it is way, way, way overpriced right now, especially considering that you will probably have to buy a bundle with games that aren't very good. Also- make sure you buy the top quality one, with the good hard drive included, so that you can use all the features on it.

Personally, I'm gonna hold off on buying one until the price goes down, or just hedge my bets on some of my friends or housemates buying one for me to play on.

Yep we did buy the package with the Hard-Drive and free Xbox Live for a year. I think it was around 500 $ Cnd. Yeah, I'm mostly hyped about Oblivion Elders Scrolls, took em 3 years to make, and the gametrailers of it just look sick.
Holding off for a while will be smart too, usually when systems like this come out they don't have very good games to play. I'm just too anxious to wait though I had to pre-order it.

I'm planning on getting the PS3, but probably not right away.

XBox 360 looks impressive, but I like the game selection for Sony better. Been tempted several times to go out and pick up the current gen XBox or Gamecube, but there are very seldom games that I'm interested in that don't eventually end up on the PS2.

If anyone's ever played on a modded out xbox, you'll understand why I'll alway choose XBox/Xbox 360 over Playstation2/3 (even though the Playstation3 is technically more powerfull).

For anyone interested....

Best Buy will get limited suplies this weekend with each store to get anywhere from 20-100 (most with about 40-50) XBOX 360's.

This is only on Sunday Decmber 18th and expected to sell out right away ofcourse.

Someone created a nice google map to locate yur best buy and with info on number of available units.

http://xbox.clambert.org/map

I don't need one (not really a priority in my life right now :) ), but maybe some of you are still looking so I figured I'd pass the information along.

Well I guess Best Buy's policy is that you don't have to buy a bundle, so you might get just the XBOX 360 at the decent price (not 100% sure though).

I never reccomend buying consoles on luanch days or a few months after that. From personal experience, the ones I bought were all bugged and glitchy.

Bingo. There's always something wrong with the first generation of systems. Overheating for disc-based consoles has been the common problem dating back as far as Turbo Grafx's Turbo Duo I believe. Recently someone filed a class-action lawsuit against Microsoft due to X-Box 360's overheating. Unless you view it as some sort of necessary status symbol, why not wait a little while until the kinks get worked out?

That is what it is about. If you don't have the right franchises, you won't last.

Despite Nintendo being below par these past two systems, they have the right franchise players to keep them going: Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, etc. Playstation: Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry etc.

No choice between the 2 IMO. I play all PC/Consoles...

Pick the one you like with the games you like. No need for the wars PS/X/Revo...

I am going to probably get both PS3 and Xbox360. Never been a Nintendo fan but that is me.

I'm damn tempted to pick up Revolution at some point just because it will have to ability to download and play all Nintendo games dating back to the original NES. Drool-worthy for an old gaming curmudgeon like myself.

The controller is the "Revolution."

Nintendo said there is one more secret they are holding back.

Halo 2 is the only reason I own an XBox and Halo 3 will be the only reason for me to buy another game system.

And buying systems when they first come out is genius, if you turn around and sell it on eBay for 100% profit. I know a friend who got 3 360 systems and turned it into $3000.
