That's what sports are all about. Someone stands between you and your goal, and the only way to settle it is to beat them at their own game. They are where you want to be, and the only way to change that is to take it from them.

GIVE US THOSE LOTTERY BALLS MEMPHIS!!!

Good job Kings.

This loss still leaves us in 7th place, five games ahead of Memphis in the win column. But with the creative ways the Kings find to lose, I'm confident that we'll make it, or come close. If they fall short, the coach can't be blamed. He's certainly doing everything he can to lose. No, that blame will have to fall on players like Kevin Martin, Corliss Williamson (repeat offenders) and occasionally Bibby and Artest who refuse to follow the gameplan as it is laid out.

Update: The Hawks won tonight inching the Kings that much closer to the top. Keep reaching for that brass ring guys!

There ya go! A ray of sunshine!

Actually, we entered the game with the 6th worst record. But we're driving hard now. I'm sure they Grizz thought the had the loss in the bag, but NOBODY outsucks the Kings when we're on our game. ;)

P.S. there are only two teams in the Atlantic Division beneath us anymore, although they figure to maybe be the two toughest ones to unseat. Maybe if Boston gets Pierce back they will go on a little mini-run, win 40% of their games and pass us up.

We certainly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. I agree though, K-mart and Corliss better back off. It actually looks like they want to win. Someone needs to get them on the program.

Well Kevin made some nice contributions to this loss late, so maybe he's getting wiht the program. May have to trade Corliss though. ;)

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO kings!

although boston is way better at sucking than us, they can also win more because they play more games in the east. hope pierce goes on a tear when he gets back.

Ps. im ashamed of myself

Aren't you forgetting the entire Atlantic division?

VF, as you know, you can't look too far ahead in sports. Sure we play Boston and Philly next month and truth be told, I think they are greater threats to our goals than the Grizzlies. But right now, tonight, the Grizz have the number one spot and we just went in to their house and gave them a win. It doesn't mean as much as giving them a win in our building, but I'll take it.

When Boston or Philly take the top spot, you'd better believe the Kings will be gunning for them next. But they have their work cut out for them. Sure, the Sixer are 5-5 in their last 10, but the brillant idea to deal Iverson may pay off for them soon in the loss column. On the other hand, Boston is just a machine. 11 straight losses? Bravo Boston, bravo. . .

I like the optimism Brick, but we were 7th based on winning percentage going into this game, and that's where we remain with a 0.395 winning percentage. On the other hand we did gain some valuable ground on the Grizz (0.261) and the Hawks (.372) and possibly the Bobcats (.349) who are tied right now. We also gained a half game on the idle Celts (.279) and Sonics (.386). Unfortunately, Philly (.304) was able to lose, allowing them to keep pace with us.

Current Standings:

1. Memphis 12-34 .261
2. Boston 12-31 .279
3. Philadelphia 14-32 .304
4. Charlotte 15-28 .349
5. Atlanta 16-27 .372
6. Seattle 17-27 .386 18 ½
7. Sacramento 17-26 .395

Go Kings!

Actually, we've been sucking in our alternates this trip. I know it makes the games harder to watch, but hey, why mess with a "winning" formula?

If we're gonna suck, let's do it with the uglies on as well. ;)

Zactly why I don't root to lose, but I can't get upset over the losses.;)

me too!

i love the kings to death! this run to the lottery has gotten me super exicited to be a kings fan again as weird as that sounds. this year, i love losses, and i like wins. you can't get any better then that :D

GO KINGS!

Breaking news!!!!

Charlotte is just about to beat Denver....So thats another lotto team we're gaining on! :)

I'm pitching in, too. Was offered tickets to Saturday's game and turned them down for fear of having my streak screw things up with unnecessary wins. :D

I totally agree we are not the worst team in the league and i doubt we will get a top 3 pick, top 5 is more like it.
And thats fine with me...I want Al Horford from Florida...we could get him from picks 5-7. This guy is exactly what we need...size! We keep Artest to go with him and you have a damn formidable 3/4 combination...high/low, however you want to put it. Horford is NBA ready, and at 6'10/250...gives us something to start with both him and Ron.

Since when do you have to have the very worst record to win the lottery? The team with the worst record has only won the lottery, like, four times in the history of the lottery.

Updated Standings:

1. Memphis 12-34 .261
2. Boston 12-31 .279
3. Philadelphia 14-32 .304
4. Charlotte 16-28 .364
5. Atlanta 16-27 .372
6. Seattle 17-27 .386 18 ½
7. Sacramento 17-26 .395

I know the top three looks far away right now, but we are only 1.5 games from 4th place with some very loseable games (at Minny, vs NO/OKC, vs Chicago) and then an important pair of games with Seattle. I really think we can make it to fourth place. At that point it's anybody's game.

Go Kings!

I'll be at the Minnesota game and my record has been HORRIBLE this year.. I think I'm 1-7 this year, so I think I may be of some help. ;)

Ohh that's just great?! All the comments about getting one of the lottery balls..you people are the one's that suck..yet you'll BOO at Arco when the Kings are playing like s***. So, which is it?

The way Atlanta and Charlotte have been playing (well, Charlotte, anyway), we could easily be in fourth by the end of that Seattle game.

We're not booing because they suck; we're booing because they're dogging it. Learn to tell the difference.
