Question for all of you. If we end up with up Ayton would you be against trading WCS plus for Wiggins?

Fox
Bogs
Wiggins
Skal
Ayton

As our staring 5. I think that could be a playoff team

Yes I’ll be extremely against it.

Build with team first non ball donut guys who play defense. Fox/Bogdan are our main ball handlers with Ayton we have a shooter in Buddy and Giles/JJ are role players who won’t need the ball.

If anything I’d do WCS/JJ
For
Oubre/Mahinmi

Oubre isn’t ball dominate and can be a 3D guy

Would love to pick up Oubre. He plays hard, particularly on defense.

Dude wants the be a number 1 option and brings nothing to the table but scoring. Just say no!!

We need to build the team the right way not a 1 way guy who doesn’t pass I’m looking at you too Porter Jr

Talent-wise, sure because Wiggins is a better player/worth more in trade and is under contract but he's a poor fit on a team that already lacks shooting.

But why on Earth would Minnesota do that deal? Trading a starting SF for a backup C behind KAT?

Well, we all know it takes two to tango. By extension we can infer that it also takes two to foxtrot. And of course, it's usually easier to get folks out on the dance floor if you ply them with some whiskey first. So you could rightly suggest that from Minnesota's point of view this would be a Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot type of deal.

There is no reason to have Wiggins on this team. I'd rather have Trevor Ariza at SF than Wiggins. Wiggins gives you no rebounding, passing, or defense. Literally the only thing he'll do if he's here is shoot the ball. We got plenty of youngins that need shots...not enough that are willing to do the little things.

Exactly!!

Fox, Buddy, Bogdan, and Doncic/Ayton should be getting the shots and usage. Now we need dirty workers Giles/JJ are a good start if wcs can get his head out of Porzingis ass would be good too

My only concern for this next season is that there won't be enough shots to go around. These past years we've made it work because nobody on the team is consistently making shots, but next season could be different. Buddy definitely needs more shots and a bigger role. Same goes for many others on the team. In that regard, I think Donicic is the better fit for the team currently. But then that means Willie is gonna stay and he's apparently prepping himself to be a 20ppg scorer lol So that's less opportunity to grow offensively for the others.

Seriously though, we need some heavy roster changes to balance our squad. Bringing in another scorer is not gonna be beneficial to us. Not unless we sign Paul George or Boogie ;D Draft day is gonna be when we know who's staying and who's getting traded. If we get Ayton, then I expect Willie to be gone. No way in jin yang is Willie gonna come off the bench, and i'd assume there is no way a team like the Kings would bring their #2 pick off the bench!

Kings were the lowest scoring team in the league last year. There are plenty of shots to go around.

I'll trade WCS for a bag of chips at this point. Ok not really, but what I mean is I don't see him as a starter for us long term, and he'd be one of my main trading chips to get a valuable player.

To get rid of overblown contract. The exact reason we should not trade for him. His production is well bellow his contract and there are a few years left. I would not trade even ZBo or Shumpert, because thier contracts expire at the end of the next season.

And those contracts represent roster spots that the Kings don't have an abundance of this year. Next year you use those spots to plug holes.

I just looked up under-achiever, and behold, there was a picture of Wiggins. First, I have no desire to trade Willie. Second, if I were to trade him, I would want someone back that at least has a ticking heart burning with desire.

I agree with you and would never trade for Wiggins now that we have the 2nd pick. However WCS doesn’t have a ticking heart with burning desire either

Wiggins is so much more talented than WCS. That trade would be a no brainer
Talent alone is not enough! Michael Beasley is also an exceptional talent.

Wiggins at max contract is a no from me even though I think he would be a better player away from Minnesota.

He is dominant talent that won’t just show up in sac. Gotta buy when low

If you are not 110% sure that he is turning it around into the player his potential promises, there is no way in hell you waste that much of your cap space on a gamble. It could set the team back for years.

Yah. You do. That is how small market teams get better. If a player is 110% anything he is playing in a large market

No you don’t! That is how small market teams end up perennial cellar dwellers!

OKC didn’t get good bu taking gambles like that. Utah didn’t get good by taking gambles like that etc.

Small market teams get better by not wasting draft picks, making smart, calculated trades to add pieces and assets to have currency. We didn’t get better by swinging to the fences on Derek Coleman. We got better by trading for a proven commodity in C-Webb whose best was still ahead of him.

Wiggins has been nothing but disappointing. He got his max 5 year deal and all of a sudden he decided he is done. That tells me all I need to know.

Kinda gambled on Webber.

Err NO!

Chris Webber was an allstar (1997) when we traded for him coming off a 22/10/4/1.5/1.5 season. That is not a gamble. That is a proven commodity that is yet to enter his prime years.

Two situations could not be more far apart.

On the court. Not off and not a lock to stay.

And what was your stance on cousins?

One has nothing to do with the other. They are 2 different players. Cousins biggest problem was arguing with the refs too much. He made himself into a solid defender and the team was miles better with him on the floor. He is also on a whole other talent level than Wiggins.

I liked the potential of Wiggins coming out of college, but he has fallen short IMO. He showed the promise of being a good defender, but shows almost no interest on that side of the floor. On offense, he only seems concerned with what he can do and rarely looks for his teammates once he the ball. If you just looked at stats, he appears very similar to his teammate Butler, but there is no doubt who is far and away the better player.
