So who do you think will win the 3 point shootout??

I think Ray has a good chance of winning it...i wouldn't mind if he won it or if Vlad won it...i don't think Joe will win and id be surprised if he did...i want Kyle to win...he was real close last year...but i really hope Q doens't win...can't stand the guy

as for Voshon Leonard...isn't he on the IL for the rest of the year? didn't he like break something major? why is he on that list? did he come off the IL or something? but i could have sworn he was out for the year

Kyle Korver would be my first choice, if not him than Q.

You're right, I thought he was out the whole season too. Not sure why he's still listed there.

I'll go with either Ray and Radmanovic to win. I also don't mind if Kyle wins. I like that Kid.

What ? Where's Pedja ???

Thats what i'm trying to figure out too....But last yeaaar when peja lost in this contest he had a bad time afterwards, so it might be better if he doesn't enter.

Pedja said last season after the shootout that he wasn't planning on coming back. Looks like he kept his word. ;)

I prefer Pedja to rest that weekend with his family.

as smooth and sweet as peja's 3-point stroke is, i dont believe he's at the top of the league in any 3-point statistics, and thats what i believe theyre basing their selections on. with that said, i'm wondering why damon jones wasnt asked? i think he'd be great at the 3-point contest, cuz he's got a quick and accurate release.

how many times can you be in a 3pt contest anyways...he won it twice thats enough...give your spot to someone else

good point Padrino....where's Damon Jones....??

I too am confused by the selection of Voshon Lenard. I know he's the defending champion, but if he's out for the year, should he be competing in this event?

Peja not in 3 pt. Competition?

So Peja's not competing this year? Did the league not invite him? He should have a chance to reclaim the title if he wants. Or did he just not want to go? Thats weird

Weird? Or predictable considering Pedja's shooting this year has been nowhere near his best?

It's all about "What have you done lately?"

I would assume it was because he decided not to go. It was made clear last year that he planned on that being his last competition. I don't believe Voshon Lenard's shooting this year has been very good either, but I guess he was invited as a past champion. I would think that Stojakovic got the same courtesy but turned it down.

It's also possible that he turned down the invitation because of his recent bout with back spasms. I mean, I doubt the NBA would take Q and Joe Johnson (no disrespect to those guys) over Peja for no particular reason. But then again, he has been struggling compared to years past...

Oh well, more rest for his back, which is always nice.

this exact thread is already in the NBA forum

but ill say what i said in that thread...

how many times can one be in a 3pt contest...he's won twice already...let someone else have a turn...or have your spot i should say

they took the best so far this season...and shockingly he's not one of them

^yeah we've mentioned that...ive got to get to the bottom of that mystery...i was gonna go to nuggets.com and see whats going on...but im too lazy to wait for the page to load

I think even if they did invite him, he probably said no. Last year at the All Star game, Pedja said he's not planning on doing it this season (and perhaps the future too).

yeah, I remember that too.

I also remember Lenard said he will be willing to defend his title if he is invited, and it looks like he is.

The strange thing is...Lenard is on the Injuried list. (http://www.nba.com/nuggets/roster/)

So he gets to compete while being on the injuried list??

I know he is, he said that comment when he got injured:)

Even free agents can compete as long as they are invited and they accept.

anyone remember which free agent player that was?

Thanks for that info. Didn't know that. :)

Has Ray Allen been in a 3 pt contest when Peja was in it? I would love to see that.
2001 Ray won, Dirk, Nash, and Allan Houston were there too.

Then in 2002 Ray was in it with Peja as well.

Whatever; if you had to put money on any player to win 3 point contest, it wouldn't be Pedja ???

Q is a volume shooter. I rather have Michael Redd in the competition. He has such a quick release. If i have my choice of a 3 point contest, I would have Peja, Redd, Nowitzki, Korver, and Allen.
