Thoughts From The Game (Actually Attended) Some Interesting Notes

So I actually went to this game (I know alot of you have gone to games) but I found this one particurally interesting being the Clippers Kings rumors that have been going around.

1. Artest looks absolutely lost out there. It's very difficult to see when you are watching TV, but when he is off the ball he basically leaves about 5-8 feet of space between him and his man, and let's him do pretty much whatever he wants. He tried it on Maggette who ran off six straight points and then was pulled for Salmons.

2.There were countless times when Artest would wave off Mike, Brad, and Kevin to do his own thing. And on defense he often left his own man to go freelancing, leaving his teamates completely blindsided as to what was going on. Not only that, but there were about 5 times when a player from the Kings would go up to Ron seemingly to ask him what the hell he was doing.

3. I sat two rows behind the Maloof brothers. You might have seen me, I tried to wave everytime it looked like they were panning to the Maloofs. And I heard them say things all with the same message "What the hell is Artest doing?!" And also said a few times "This is ridiculous, they're just standing around!" "O come onnnnnnnn Muss don't take out Reef!" Bottom line: They did not seem very happy at all with the team or Ron.

4. Reef was the ONLY one besides Mike doing anything in the fourth. And Muss pulls him for... Brad Miller? Who got absolutely abused by Kaman a few times on the boards and on defense.

5. Kevin not only looked exhausted out there, but often got the  look on his face when they did ISO's with Ron, Corliss, or Kenny. And I must say (even though his shooting wasn't that great) I can't blame him.

6. Ron looked gimpy out there. Every free throw he would do the what I have come to call the "Artest limp" back to the opposite ends free throw line. In which it almost appears as if he's walking on glass. Wincing and all. I'm sure this wouldn't have settled to well with the Clippers big wigs.

7. I can't seem to understand Muss's substitutions at all. He'll throw in Cisco for like 2 minutes spirts, Douby for 2 minute spirts etc. Either give them no minutes, or a decent amount of minutes to actually do something.

8. There was no heart out there. They looked like a beaten team from the minute they stepped on the court.

9. On a positive note, someone from the Kings did pantsed Corliss Williamson while they were doing their pre-game huddle (you know where they all get in a circle and bob back and forth)

I've noticed that look on Kevin's face a bit recently. That really bothers me. He's been our bright spot and if Muss is losing him, I'm really going to be pi**ed.

I think Muss has already lost Ron.

I hope the Maloofs could tell muss to utlize the post more often, i like the inside outside game we played with Reef our offence looked great. Just tell reef not to take any more three's.

Ron was wincing because he has a bruise on the back of his knee. Muss talked about it before the game. He collided with Allen Henderson or something like that during the 76ers game. That wouldn't hinder any trade.

That being said pull the trigger on the Artest for Maggette trade NOW. I've been level headed about this so far, but Ron is no good to us if he won't play for us. He was sore, sure, but he's given up on the team.

Maggette can hustle, shoot, defended well and rebounded well. Let's get him. I like the kid a lot.

Thanks for the insights, Sackings384.

From what you're saying, it sounds like they may also not be that thrilled with what they're seeing from the coach, which would agree with what I've been feeling.

Anyone who wants to get a real creepy deja vu feeling needs to go read the PacersDigest board from when Artest came back and started having problems with Rick Carlisle. It'll send shivers up your spine...

The painful truth is that after the "performance" Artest put on tonight, right in front of Donald Sterling, you have to wonder if the Clippers would even consider a Maggette-Artest trade at this point.

Only Ron gets injured by the player who DNP CD

peja may not be what he once was, but the bottom line is this guy is still and always will be a lights out shooter. he was the source of passion for sacramento, everybody loved the guy. now we got all these other players...artest...kenny thomas...come on man BRING PEJA BACK. i still remember the announcer....PEJA FOR 3...SWISH BABY WOOOT PUT IT IN THE BUCKET!

stop smoking crack

Peja just signed a very lucrative deal with the Hornets that will last through the end of his career. Bringing him back would be a significant step backward. If we're going to do anything, we need to start forgetting about the past and start thinking about the future. Forget the glory days and realize they're gone, over, done, finished.

I'll accept Ron's statements that he has had back problems, knee problems, and now this knee bruise. But he just looks more and more disconnected out there in games to me. He'll play great in spurts, but then looks like he is just mentally checked out to me, more and more. Am I just imagining this, because I'm worried about Ron? I just don't know. *sigh*:(

Peja might not even play again this season... I think bringing Peja back is almost as realistic as bringing Webber back and convincing Vlade to come out of retirement.

If you watch any game you'll notice that more often then not Muss using the post is his first option. The only problem is that it's quite often Kenny in the post. Very ugly indeed. :o

That and the fact that he's having back surgery.

I am more worried abot Kings. Ron - I could care less.

hey sackings 384, I also went to the game tonight and was in section 105. I was there early and just saw Muss argue with a clipper fan who kept hollering that he would go next to Fratello...IMHO, though, he didn't show a lot of class by doing that...

Actually I meant worried about what Ron could potentially do to this team ala Pacers.:(

Pacers survived and we would too.

We are not playing for anything right now. If he blows up we just might end with a better draft pick. We are not contender or even a pretender. We suck either way and if it needs an explosion to get us to start over sooner than later - so be it

oh, btw, this is just my second post..but have been following the posts here for a few years now...really appreciate the discussions here...

first time i saw the kings live as i just arrived here in the US this year...am planning to visit Arco when we play the Lakers...hope we have a better team (and coach) by then..

I just got back to from the game. You might of heard me as i was yelling my head off and no longer have a voice. I got prop from other kings fans for doing so. There was more kings fans there then i thought. It sad we lost though, i really thought they was going to be a win. I belive we played good in the 1st quater n decent in the 2nd. Then we came apart in after the half. We just didnt look good, couldnt hit shot, get rebounds or captialize off of turnovers. Well am buzzing so am going to get off before i ramble on about nonsense!
