Signing Luke Schenscher?

He was on our training camp roster last year, but we let him go.

Don't have any idea why we would need him.

Petrie is at it again.

What makes you think Petrie is up to anything? Is it just because of some rumor at realgm? I would need a whole lot more credible source than that (which is just about any source:p ) before I worried about this.

Well, it's probably not true but,

I despise the RUMORS of us getting another soft big-man, even if it is just a rumor.

And it's full of puffery. Sounds like someone's agent is trying to make a certain player a little more attractive...

LS was a dud. Petrie doesn't rehire duds.

Well...he's tall. There's something. A tall scrub. But tall.

But as with most such end of the bench signings, they are almost completely irrelevant come gametime because they just aren't going to play.

I remember hearing that he was one step below Bozo on the "we need him" list.

Look at it this way -- if we had had Luke, maybe he could have just reached up and freed that ball/net last year rather than Cisco having to jump for it. Could have changed the entire course of a career.

See? He's got uses! ;)

From what I remember, had he attempted to do that, he most likely would have caught a finger in the net, dislocating said finger and tearing said net in the process.

VF why do you seem to dislike Napolean Dynomite so much?

I actually liked the Napoleon Dynamite movie.

This isn't about liking LS. It's about whether or not I think he would be of any help to the Kings. The answer is a resounding NO. He showed virtually NOTHING during the brief time he was here and apparently he didn't do much for the Bulls or they'd still have him.

Tall is good but it's not the only consideration. I honestly don't think he's NBA material right now.

He might be o.k. for Aussie Bball down under, but not the NBA. ;)

Are you trying to say he's no Luke Longley? I liked that Aussie in a Bulls uniform years ago in the Jordan days. :D

On a side note, it's funny how these big white guys are looking like people we've seen only much bigger of course. Sch... to ND and Swift from the Sonics to Dave Mustaine, the front man for Megadeth. Wow these gingers are big!!!!! :-)

It's just a rumor - from a Aussie basketball website. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

**** Napoleon Dynamite; that movie rates just ahead of Woo and The Glass Shield as the worst movie I've ever seen.

That said, I've always been pro-Schenscher; I shouldn't have to explain why to anyone who's been on this board more than a week.

Hmm...its because you're a tall, skinny, pasty white redheaded geek, right? :p

I always thought Schenscher looked fine when he played for the Bulls. I don't see why this would happen now, though, instead of after Miller's injury.

I am in favor of signing ANY big body that will stand under the basket and TRY to contest a shot or anyone attempting a lay-up. Whether Luke is the guy or, someone else..I am all for it.

:D

We definately need some size. I'm so envious of Dallas, Portland, and many other teams with their group of 7 footers. They sit one and bring in another to replace him. Dallas showed us how deep they are, as SA will tonight. They bring a player out and isn't much of a "downgrade" to bring in the bench guy. When we do this we bring in a youngin without much experience or vet bum, we really need to build our bench depth. This isn't done overnight, but it needs to start happening. Dallas and SA are loaded with vet players off the bench who still are very good in limited minutes and young guys that are very hungry, they are just so loaded from top to bottom.

Stats from the D-league

Luke 8.8ppg 7reb 1.24blks
Justin Williams 12.4 ppg 14reb and 2.4blks

Hmm now if i was going to take a guy we had invited to camp before i believe i would go with the one that is rebounding like Ben Wallace in the league and not SAR.
