Offense (Scoring & Passing)
Quick, creative PG dubbed Spanish Chocolate years ago for the similarity in style and flair to former Kings PG Jason "White Chocolate" Williams. Very quick with the ball, has excellent court vision, and very nifty as a passer. Has necessarily toned this aspect of his game down somewhat since arriving in the league as it made him very turnover prone. Has struggled with his shot and to finish over big defenders in the NBA, but thus far this season neither flaw has been that evident. When pressing can get too focused on his own offense, but has shown good ability to get to the rim. Three point shot has looked better this year as well.
Defense & Rebounding
Has height, but lacks strength as a defender, rendering him succeptible to being posted or for power guards to simply drive right through him. Quicker on offense than on defense, and defensive focus has always been shaky. As with many aspects of his game, has looked better on this end so far this season, even getting out and pressuring full court at times. Not surprisingly no factor on the glass.
Intangibles
Creative ability was largely squashed during his time in Portland under no-nonsense coach Nate McMillan. But has flourished thus far in Paul Westphal's looser system. By nature an unselfish player, but may have an inflated opinion of his role in the NBA, and has seemed to chafe at erratic minutes.
