Can it get any tighter?

Cubs and Giants tied now with 6 games left and Astros only .5 game behind with 5 games left.

Go Cubs!!!
 
cubs are 2-4 in their last 6 games against the mets and reds including the hearbreaking 12 inning loss tonight. we suck. there's no way of getting around it. we're playing horrible baseball and are literally giving the WC away. if we did make the playoffs playing as we are right now, we would get sodomized and sent home crying. unless we tremendously fix the way we're playing, i do NOT want to see us in the playoffs. ive followed 150+games as close as i could, and i don't want to see a ****ty team in the postseason. give it to someone who plays good.
 
It's depressing, that's what it is; all the Cubs had to do was beat up on bottom feeders, and they were in, and they couldn't ****ing do it!!!


It's funny, in a way; all summer long, sixth and Grobar and I and others here have been rooting for the Cubs to win the Wild Card, while most of the baseball fans from NorCal have been rooting for the Giants to get it... And now, it looks like Houston is going to win it, just to spite all of us...
 
I would have actually preferred the Giants overtake the Dodgers, and the Cubs beat out LA and Houston for the wild card. Everybody wins. Oh well... doubtful now.
 
haha cubs lose 2-1 to the reds today... prior strikes out 16. congradulations cubbies. i was coming back from work on the red line (it passes virtually right next to wrigley field) and it looked like all the fans were just decimated. this team has played with our emotions so much it's ridicilous. i've lived and died with every pitch this season, and for the cubs to self destruct in the last week, against the mets and reds is beyond comprehension. where's bartman or alex gonzales when you need them...? at least we'd have someone to blame.

I am with uolj. I was rooting for the Giants to win the West and the Cubs to get the wildcard. Thay may both be out. Hey, Rockies, kill the Astros. ;)

All the Cubs have to do is sweep the Braves and hope that Giants and Astros lose a game or two. :(

Oh, well. Basketball season is about to start anyway.

Giants/Damn Yankees would be a fun world series to watch...providing the Giants won.

Then again another Giants/A's world series would be fun too.

If it comes down to Giants/BoSox I'm not sure who I would want to win more. The Giants cause I'm a fan or the BoSox just so they can be put out of their misery.

I'm going to the game tomorrow so maybe it will actually just be a fun baseball game to watch. Neither team has anything to lose.

god this sucks... had to go to work just as game started. red line was freaking packed, nobody could move. and then i come back from work and we lost! :( sad day.

there's always... ahh screw it... it heasn't worked the last 96 years...
 
I went to a wedding reception tonight, and first thing the "newlyweds" did was offer the condolences for all the Cubs fans.
 
opps. WTG cards, seriously, i hope the cards ..... up the yankees. or the astros, i don't care who it is, but i want those yankees ...... UP! i just HATE that team. from primmadonna a-rod who couldn't handle being on a loser team even though his contract made it impossible for that team to have any financial flexibility, to derek jeter who thinks it don't stink, damn, just anyone who dons those stupid pinstrips, i hope they get ...... up!!!! i hope the red sox can come back, but after tonights "effort" they are DONE. pedro pitches his heart out and his still looses. GOOD GRIEF can't you score against jon lieber. come on this isn't CY YOUNG he's a nobody!!! GAWD!!!! all the hacking, i got so dam frustated i turned on the other game, and that was nice to see the cards smack around the stros pen. what a joke that is outside of lidge. lidge is NASTY, but the rest are gas cans.

pujols is amazing. wouldn't that be something to see him batting behind bonds ( NEVER going to happen outside of the AS game) well one can dream.

Seriously, everywhere Reggie Sanders goes lately...the team goes to the WS (assuming the Cards make it.)

I don't know about anyone else, but I think I want Sanders back in RF for the Giants next year.

i have no sour grapes. the cardinals are just better. and the astros are a one year wonder. unless you're a obsessed fan, you should be able to see that.

Playoffs in five of the past 8 years and they're a one year wonder? Really?
 
THIS year they're a one year wonder. relax man, you gotta be so offensive about this. i'm not making this into a cubs-houston discussion. cubs dropped the ball and they choked this year. im not gonna deny that. astros played great. but they have no chance vs the cards. they just look like last year's florida marlins.


MVP - yea, well i'm a sportsaholic, and i don't get any serbian channels so i can't follow any games, though i still follow our leauge and soccer in general like a religion. i'll try to see the game somehow, but i doubt i'll be able to.
