Mock draft 2026

All narratives considered, supposedly slow and plodding prospect Cam Boozer getting the same shuttle time as AJ Dybantsa and a faster time than super athlete Caleb Wilson is the most hilarious possible outcome for these drills

Not a real shocker with Wilson, great vertical athlete and when moving forward. The hips are a little stiff. Some of these drills are beyond pointless though lol.

That drill looks like an excellent way to injure yourself by going too hard.

That times on that drill are pointless. That is an eye test drill for athleticism. The big guys taping their feet on the line with long legs doesn’t even look like basketball movements.

I have been saying this since January.
I would love him back at Arizona but not if he's given a green light to shoot 3s to increase his draft potential so I'm mixed. But yeah, his draft stock peaked on opening night of the season and has slid since (he did have a few great games in the 12 and NCAA tourneys but also battled foul trouble all season which is another issue for a player of his skillset).

I saw that first game and thought he was going launch himself into the discussion around pick 4-5 but it was all kinda downhill from there...

It isn't just his 3pt shooting, he has almost no offense outside of 10 feet. And he will have a lot more difficulty playing bully ball in the NBA.

The best thing I heard said about him is that he can't shoot at the level required to play on the perimeter in a modern four out one in system yet at 6'7 he is far too small to be the one in.

3 point shot would significantly change things for him. As would curtailing the foul trouble he constantly found himself in because he's not going to be an interior defender either.

I don't think he's hopeless but his chances at getting 4 years and an extension in the NBA definitely hinge on him being able to shoot outside and defend without fouling.

If he could constantly hit a 15-18 foot jumper, it would open a lot of things for him offensively. If I remember correctly, he shot 33% on catch and shoot jumpers that weren't 3s this season.

I don't want to read too much into that because it was not Arizona's scheme and when players shot mid-range it was usually because they had to not because they wanted to. The entire offense was predicated on the and-1 translating to more points per possession than the 3-ball game. And it worked marvelously until they ran right into a brick wall called Michigan...

Yeah, Mara would be a big cone for Wemby to dribble around.

If LA and Brooklyn want to mess around with upside swing picks and let a higher ranked prospect fall to us at #7 that's perfectly alright with me! But I can see why Mara would make sense in the West at least knowing that we'll have OKC and their fleet of guards and San Antonio with Wemby and Harper/Fox/Castle to contend with for the next 10 years. Even a traffic cone is better than an uncontested path to a free dunk.

I know Chet may not have been 100% last night but teams better come up with another strategy than throw any big body at Wemby.

Cardwell would have locked Wemby up last night and barked at their bench!
I mean, the one area that Wemby has had trouble dealing with is smaller stockier guys taking out his base but it doesn’t really matter much when he’s hot and shooting logo threes like Steph.

The thing about Mara for me is that he wasn’t even the second best player on his team. Part of that is because Yaxel and Morez are really good but I still don’t know why we’ve decided to start projecting every single 7’2” and above guy as a potential Wemby stopper.
