When I saw Susac also had a quick arm behind the plate I knew Bailey was out of rope. Only delayed by Susac’s injury.

Also interesting that Cleveland is sending a first round draft pick for this years draft. I thought you couldn’t trade future draft picks in baseball.

Don’t know anything about the arm we got but it seems like a nice haul for a guy who can’t hit. Cleveland must be having some issues with guys stealing on them

Quick search looks like he's been a quick riser in their system. 1.59 ERA, 36 Ks in 28 innings so far in double A. 330 strikeouts in 252 minor league innings is good stuff too.

Feel like Robbie Ray could be the next guy to go if a team is looking. Bring back McDonald and or Whisenhunt and go with youth

Keep selling and investing in the farm. Buster and the crew have done an incredible job retooling the farm over the last year and a half. We had the biggest rise of anyone this offseason.

*trades Bailey to create AB’s for catchers who can hit”

*starts career .228/.278 Eric Haase in the first game after trading Bailey*

Eric Haase once hit 22 home runs in a single season and also hit two home runs last night.

Bailey might not hit 22 home runs the rest of his career.

Killian gives up 2 HRs in the 9th for a gut punch loss to the Rox

I'm excited about the Giants farm in what literally feels like a decade. They truly have some blue-chip guys that are a few years away... some think Josuar might end up being ranked the #1 overall prospect in baseball soon enough.

The prudent thing would be to just tear this down now.... sell, sell, sell. Fully stock up the farm, get what value you can from guys like Ray/Arraez/Bader. As much as I love him, look at dealing Webb now too while you can still get a real haul for him. And while we're likely stuck with Devers/Chap/Adames, even if we have to pay a bunch of their salary to move off them, there's still value in doing that now, while we actually attempt a rebuild, than in 2-4 years when we try to be competitive again.

Giants at least have a pulse now. Eldridge is blossoming at 21 years old. Jung Hoo Lee is raking. Schmitt has had a breakout. Trev McDonald who I was asking to be brought up has been solid.

Now give Bericoto steady time. I’d like to see them bring Whisenhunt up and other youth in the pen.

I didn’t know Harrison was living up to the hype now.

Maybe the Giants are the problem

The team is assuredly the problem. How many other teams have such a barren lack of home grown talent? Hopefully Eldridge’s natural talent and speed through the bad coaching overcomes whatever the team is doing.

That said, the trade was a trade you make 10 times out of 10, and the team is doing okay right now. The pitching is an absolute trainwreck and that won’t change (good job Buster) but there is no reason for this team to not be an offensive force. There’s a lot of talent in the lineup.

And serve me my Casey Schmidt crow. Dude’s taking at a level I never thought he’d reach.

Buster Posey with an absolute masterclass in roster building by not caring about his bullpen. He’s got a bunch of trophies, so I don’t think he’ll ever fully “VLADE” his legacy but I have zero faith in him.

I know Doval has sucked, but it also doesn't make a ton of sense to "sell" your bullpen... but then still try to compete?

Sucks, because our offense has really turned around the last few weeks to what we expected and really started mashing. Eldridge looks like a future superstar. But the failure of Mahle/Houser and the bullpen is going to prevent any sort of mid-season run into the playoffs.
