Just an observation of my own feelings about the Kings losing ways of late...
I find that with each new loss, it's a little less painful.
Still hurts to see them play well and then fall apart; that seems to happen far too often. But maybe that's the only way to lose consistently when you've still got the talent to be a .500 team. So I'm learning to let it hurt less with each new loss, and to replace my frustration with hopes that this is the ticket to a quick dip in the deep end of the lottery pool, from which we shall emerge a true contender.
Muss, however, has obviously not adopted this objective. He continues show a lack of trust in the younger players (including Kevin Martin at times) and keeps their playing time to a minimum (well, all but Martin, anyway). As if playing the veterans is bringing him the wins he naturally craves! But I don't begrudge him for trying to win games. No doubt he feels that winning is a key to his survival (as a head coach).
And, lastly, I don't begrudge the many Kings fans that still hope their team will turn things around and climb back to .500, and maybe even slide into the playoffs as cannon fodder for the Mavs or whoever. At that level, many fans can still cling to their hopes that we're just one player away from being a real contender.
