CruzDude:

Hard to watch.

Canes-Medley having his best game, which isn't saying much.

At 5:14 left in 3rd 69-50 Knicks and Daniel Artest in!

Then Knicks hit 3 3's in last 90 sec to put game away 96-84

I must apologize for lack of wireless access tonight then when I got back to hotel the internet service had blocked KingsFans.com!!!!! After wading thru their customer service found out that I needed a private IP service not the public IP that everyone else uses. Finally at 9:55pm I got back on line

What follows is my thoughts after the game based on what I saw and did not see.

Caner-Medley was the lone bright spot in second half, rebounding, defending and scoring. He is quite a leaper and has good timing. 9 pts, 12 rebs and only 1 TO in 28 minutes, most in 2nd half and shot 2/4 from three while no one else made any 3's. While at Maryland he led the ACC in 3-pt shooting/scoring and he is a lefty.

Shakur quietly had 19 pts and 5 ast and looks like we'll see him in October. He was very agressive to the basket tonight for the first time. He has 4-yrs of Lute Olsen at Arizona behind him which is a pretty good resume. Now for him to elevate a bit more in the last 2 games.

Hawes did what he does well, scoring anywhere from 3ft to 21 ft. Pulled down some decent rebounds but he needs a bunch of real NBA experience like a year or so. He can be a good one tho'.

Williams with 9 and 9 was OK but he seems out of position much of the time particularly when more than 4-5 ft from the basket. Had at least 3 blocked shots and likely 2 more.

Jeter doesn't seem he'll be a camp invite and at 5-9 I think his bubble is burst. Nate Robinson went to school on him tonight and did pretty much what he wanted for 3-1/2 quarters.

David Young started but in 12:46 playing time did nothing, A few reb, no points.

Daniel Artest looks totally out of place in summer league and at 6-5 and 280 HE IS NO CHARLES BARKLEY as he surmises.

Watkins in limited minutes (8) did OK and works hard and bangs with the best of them. He can find a place on the Kings bench this year.

I'm heading home Friday and will miss a major fun event Friday. The Best Damn Sports Show Period is filming at my hotel pool area 11-1 Friday and Saturday to be aired at a later date. And to add insult to injury will have Pamela Anderson as a guest on Friday. Oh yeah!!! Did I forget to tell you? I'm staying at Hooters Hotel & Casino :D :D :D

how was spencer on defense?
A long way from being there even tho' none of the big Knicks will likely be in NBA in the fall. He lacks experience in knowing where to position himself in this "next level". When he is in the relatively correct spot he is quite good as he seems to have good timing. But since he tends to shoot a bit away from the bucket he is not underneath where a rebounder needs to be.

A correctable issue for sure but it will take time. This fall you will see very good periods from him and very bad ones when he starts banging with the real pros. One thing I see is much better foot work and quickness and getting up and down than Brad has ever shown us. So he has the inherent abilities and just needs experience.
