The Kings have to win this one...for me. :)

I'm coming down from the forest to attend my first game at the G1C. I think the least the Kings can do is honor the occasion by winning. I do not feel it's too much to ask.

My mind still remembers the image of Meyers Leonard running down the middle of the court at the end of the game pounding the ball.

Have fun, @VF21!
I have a gut feeling that it's gonna be a good one!

Blazers are just as bad a rebounding team as we are (tied with us in 26th place...).
but they differ from us on almost anything else, on both ends of the court.

The Run&Gun-ish offense is one thing, but the D is interesting -

With all their offensive weapons, POR is quite POOR defensively:

They share the Kings' problem of allowing 3s to rain on them,
(Portland actually allows an even higher % than we do!!)
but while we seem to do that as a scheme thing, a preference
to shut the paint and risk the long-range bombs,
it must be something else with the Blazers, because they're also
one of the league's worst in allowing points in the paint (#22),
whereas we excel in this department (#2!)

They took the first match (11/11) by a heartbreaking OT miss of a layup,
and that was on the road.
If we want to compete for the 8th PO spot - tonight IS a MUST-WIN,
as that's the team to beat in the overall matchup.

BTW, think of me whatever you like, but as I see it -
The Kings are probably getting a post-season ticket this year.
(There - I said it!)

I estimate our current chances to make/miss the Playoff as 60/40.
(In October I felt it was 70/30. I'm not the knee-jerking kind )

If Cosuins is suspended, you can pretty much say goodbye to any possibility of the Kings catching up to the 7th place, and it would cause the chance of making 8th dwindle to around 15% or less.

It also would prompt the franchise to start putting Tank Strategies actively into play (likely a lot of injuries and illnesses and rest and suspensions on the horizon), and cause the players to start disengaging from the team, morale to plummet, and fracture the entire team concept for the rest of the year.

In other words, I believe the season is effectively over already if Cousins is suspended vs the Blazers.

What the hell is Omri doing that makes him sick all the damn time? The main reason he was out of the rotation to start the season was him having to sit out most of the preseason because of an illness.
It'd be nice if we were told what Casspi is ill from.
There aren't that many illnesses that have zero visible symptoms that would cause a pro athlete not to be able to play for ....6 days is it now?

But then again, we fans aren't considered important enough to bother being given any information.
We might hurt ourselves with it.

Isn't Casspi constantly ill anyway? He is always missing time with some type of illness. I seems to me that it's a weak autoimmune system that he is working with.

The Trail Blazers took the last one against us by 2 in OT (In Portland!)
Can we do better at home??

Portland is on a major cold-streak with 1-6 in their last 7,
and all those 6 losses came on the road...

Good news for us tonight?

Thing is... we're great at ending streaks... :(
(Remember the home-winning streak that Memphis had lately?...)

Will we help the Blazers end THEIR streak?

Think you know exactly how it's gonna end?
Let us all know...

Gay and Casspi both out. Hard to see a win here, won't be able to keep up with them offensively, even if their defense is one of worst in league.
