Oh, good. Another TNT broadcast. My spleen is in serious peril...

Seriously, Kings fans, although some complain about Grant and Jerry being Kings homers, I would rather listen to them than have to face the agony of listening to the TNT staff and the half-time "analysis" of Charles Barkley.

But, I shall persevere. I'll do it for all of you who don't have access to TV or radio coverage. I'll do it because ;) I'm such a brave little soldier.

I have my purple slippers, lucky socks, Bibby jersey and Kings blankey. I've already consumed a pot of coffee (hey, it's cold outside) so my caffeine levels should be reaching critical stage by game time. Speaking of game time, anyone want to place any bets the first game - Houston at Orlando - goes into overtime? I'm looking forward to watching the early game, however, just to get a glimpse of Hedo and Doug. I am so very glad they're doing well. IMHO this trade could end up being one talked about for a long time as being a premiere example of how NBA trades CAN benefit both teams. :D

Just sit back and read to your heart's delight and share in our enthusiasm about the Sacramento Kings!!!**End Commercial**

Tonight should be a good game. Remember, LBJ made his league debut here in Sacramento. He learned right away how it feels to play in Arco and he learned that he wasn't going to win every game he played in. I'm confident he could find out once again that Arco just isn't a friendly place for visiting teams and league phenoms. :D

GO KINGS!!!

It's true, Barkley is hard to watch, especially if you're a Kings fan. But that's exactly what he's paid to do: to be the village idiot, pee people off, which in turn lures those people back every night to in hopes that their team proves him wrong. Or is that just me? :p

But I do like Kenny Smith and I love Magic, because both are intelligent and objective for the most part. I respect the fact that Magic has absolutely no problem with bashing his own team when the situation calls and telling the entire league how they can be beat from time to time.

And who can pass up a team like Kevin Harlan and Doug Collins when your only alternative is to listen to the WWE announcers, Grant and Jerry? Their bias makes me want to heave sometimes, while in contrast, I think Doug is absolutely the best color commentator in the NBA. Yeah, Grant has the ability to get you excited, and I can't knock him for that, but I prefer to get an impartial call when I get the chance, even though I expect that all announcers involved in tonight's game will be talking about The Gift, Lebron James all night.

Anyway, I'm way off topic....here's hoping the Kings get a huge win tonight on national television, because they don't get nearly as much fanfare as they deserve, despite the big trade and such. Well, maybe that chip on the shoulder is a good thing. Doesn't matter though...GO KINGS!

Doug Collins? Oh please. He is an unemployed coach for a reason. Impartial? How about uninformed? ;)

We can agree about Kenny and Magic, however. I enjoy them and I especially enjoy when they point out - or attempt to - the fallacies in Barkley's "logic."

Bottom line is that once again it will be all about the other team. If I have one MAJOR objection to TNT broadcast coverage it's that they always seem to forget there are actually two teams on the court whenever they come to Arco. Unless, of course, we're having a bad night and then it will be all about the "over-rated Kings' with a lack of direction, etc.

Oh well. Such is life. It could be worse. It could be an ESPN game.

AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

:D

Oops. Well, let's see...

Nope. Can't think of a way to cover that. It should have been uninformed. :D

But, turnabout is fair play.

Word! Also... he's a horrible predictor. Last year he rooted for Spurs and they were beaten by the 0.4s. He said Yao would not score more than 19 pts in the game against Mavs and he kissed a doney's ***:D. It's great that he did not (and will not) like us every single night when Kings are on TNT.

The early game is coming on. At least we have a good lead-in for our game and not something likely to lull you to sleep. ;)

GO MAGIC!!!

VF, will you do PBP of this game as well?

Nope. Sorry. I'm watching but I can only type non-stop for so long. If I'm going to wear my fingers to the bone, it's going to be for a KINGS game.

:D

Honestly if you think about the differnces between local programing and national programing it becomes NECESSARY to have a bafoon who says and does outragous things for the rational analyssits to respond to, other wise you have 2 intelligent rational guys calmly discussing the game wiht little or no excitment or even diffenrences of opinon. That would bore most of the audiance to tears. So if Charles Barkely did not exist it would necesary to creat him.

Exactly my point. You need your Stephen A. Smith's and Chuck Barkley's of the world to pee people off in order to draw ratings. Even though I can tolerate and even sort of like Stephen A., since he makes some decent points from time to time. But can anyone tell me this: WHAT'S THE POINT OF TOM TOLBERT??!!

I absolutely hate when he calls Kings games! He knows nothing about them, but every game, he never fails to rant for 5 minutes about how the Kings aren't deep anymore ever since Hedo Turkoglu and Scot Pollard left and Mateen Cleaves was on our bench. The man is pointless, just pointless...

And, strangely enough, I like Tom Tolbert who never fails to give Webber credit for what he does for the team.

;)

Strange. I didn't think this would turn into a pre-game rant against various broadcasters. :D

if anyone else is watching the magic game, it's retro night in orlando. and i am ready for the game, having KHTK on with TNT on mute, while having my custom replica jersey on . :P

and VF, tom tolbert rules :P

see yall in chat tonight

GO KINGS

Bah, I think he should just stick to the McDonald's commercials on KNBR. :p

And VF, the topic is touchy because we've got such slim pickings at that position (Weird, now it sounds like I'm writing a scouting report). Seriously, look at the names that we have at the major TV networks: Bill Walton, Tom Tolbert, Steve Kerr, Doug Collins, Tim Legler, and Hubie Brown. I may have forgotten some, but whatever. Hubie Brown is a classic, but he wasn't the same the last time I heard him (Christmas). Anyway, go Marv Albert! YEEESSS!!

Radio talk show Grant I cannot stand and I am not a big fan of Lamb even though he seems like a pretty cool guy.

Game announcer Grant I enjoy a lot. Not a fan of Jerry because he says the same stuff over and over. Grant brings a lot of energy during the games and I like that.

I like TTolbert a lot. He has a good sense of humor and I usually agree with his assessments on things.

Okay, here's the deal. You just made a VERY big mistake. You do not mention my name and the name of the ugliest man ever to wear a Boston Celtics uniform in the same paragraph - or in the same post - or preferably ever.

Thank you.

Hehe, sorry, my mistake. :p Well, would you mind if I mentioned your name along with the following:

Popeye Jones
Sam Cassell
Adonal Foyle
Antoine Walker
Danny Fortson
Dikembe Mutumbo
Calvin Booth

Or would their collective ugliness pale in comparison to Mr. Throw-it-down-big-man? Whoops, there I go again. :D

GO MAGIC!!!

Go Magic??? So... Doug moves to Orlando and I hear a "Go Magic" ... Vlade moves back to LA and I dont hear a "Go Lakers"...

Care to explain VF21? :p

Sure. The Magic are in the East. I have no problem rooting for them especially against the Houston Rockets.

I have been a fan of Vlade's since the very beginning, when he first came to the Lakers - in SPITE of the team he was on. I NEVER rooted for the Lakers then, because they were the Lakers. Now, Vlade is back on the Lakers (although he'll most likely never step on the court in the purple and gold again) and I'm still a big fan of Vlade Divac. I am not now, nor would I ever be, a fan of the Lakers. For you even to suggest such a thing actually has me reaching for the BIG can of POOF dust.

;)

Another bleeping retro night? And on TNT? Ah, crap...

As far as the Rockets/Magic game goes, the Magic have now closed to within 4 points with 3:15 left.
