Keegan Wins 2nd Rookie of the Month in a Row!!!

49 percent from 3 is insane considering how many he takes. Deserves even more credit, honestly. Hopefully Davion makes Haliburton's life a living hell tomorrow night. Gonna be a tough one

I think it’s deserving, but surprised they didn’t give the award to Kessler. He put up big stats and has started to make an impact. They usually like to spread around these monthly awards where they can.

Think the top 4 would go differently if they could be redrafted today? I'm not so sure unless the Thunder just wanted to avoid Holmgren's injury.
I think the Rockets take Jaden Ivey in the redraft or trade back. I know the match with Green isn’t great. But their current roster construction is awful.

What don't you like about Jabari Smith's fit? I mean he's obviously not having a stellar rookie year but I think this guy is going to be a really good player in the future that would fit like a glove on any roster. Might not be Kevin Durant but he should wind up being a big wing that can stretch the floor, score inside, rebound and play excellent defense. I personally would rather have him on the Rockets roster over Ivey due to Ivey kind of being redundant to the type of players they already have.

They drafted Jabari Smith Jr. as a three point specialist and he's shooting 30% from deep on 5 attempts per game. The hope is he will adjust in year two or three -- it's happened with a lot of guys. If you're doing a redraft today though, I think they take Keegan if he's still available or even AJ Griffin who's also 19 and has got elite shooting splits (.488/.411/.917) for Atlanta.

I still think Jabari becomes a very good player. I never thought he had star potential because of his lack of high end shot creation, but I think he becomes a #2 or #3 option on a very good team and his defense has already translated.

As for re-drafts - where would Giannis have landed if they did a redraft after his rookie year? Some of the really young rookies need a lot more time to develop.

Jabari’s defense is very good for a rookie and could be something that makes him a valuable player for a long time. Maybe I’m being too hard on him - but his offense just looks so clunky to me. It’s not the 3% for me so much as how he gets his looks. I don’t see a 3rd offensive option on a good team down the road. I’d rather run with Ivey, Green, Eason, KJ Martin and Sengun.

I've been a bit surprised by his shooting struggles, but I said before the draft that there would be several players taken after Smith Jr that would be better NBA players. I didn't understand all the buzz around him at #1 and said for a while that I thought Banchero was clearly the top talent in the draft.

That said, I also greatly underestimated Keegan's outside shot, and was not very high on Mathurin. So it's not like I'm batting 1.000 on my evaluations from that draft.

I was right there with you underestimating Keegan’s perimeter shooting. I never pegged that skill as the one that would stand out. I figured he’d be an all around guy - good at lots of things and great at nothing. And that’s why nobody pays me for my opinion about basketball.
