Is Justin Williams on the active roster tonight?...

No idea. Should be eligible, so guess now its just a question if we actually activate him or just do more of the "evaluation" stuff in practice.

I read the practice quotes on Kings.com and it say he is Active. Hopefully he gets some good mins today.

Great, i hope he plays!!
Imagine what Arco would sound like if Bibby or Martin got burned and Justin stepped away from his man to throw that ****!!

The actual quote from Muss was:

“I just talked to Geoff Petrie this morning a little bit more about Justin and we’re going to look at him a little bit more here in practice. We have a 10 day period to evaluate him and see what happens. Today was the first day we had a look at him in practice and he has obviously improved from his time in the minor leagues and we’ll just take it day by day.”

“He’s active. He’s a good shot blocker and rebounds the ball well. He’s still learning offensively. He’s a great guy who plays with high energy.”

This is Muss describing him as being an active player in terms of shot blocking and rebounds. He is not stating that he is active for this game. It also states that they will continue to look at him in upcoming practices. From the looks of things, he will not be active, but you never know.

I dunno, maybe Williams has to run 500 laps before he can get on the court  I would like to see him in when Varejo is playing.

And Musselman continues to make me think that he's retarded.

Basically what he is saying "I have no idea what I am doing. I don't know how to use him. I'm going to let him rot on the bench more because I've got ten days to figure out what exactly it is I'm supposed to do with this guy.

Williams has a lot better chance to play under Muss than he would of had under Rick.

based on what ? On the fact that Kings were contending and the was no need for experimenting. Rick just helped to develop Pedja, Hedo, Kevin last season. Also Brad Miller improved his game.

Bonzi getting injured helped develop Kevin last season.

Regardless, I dont think Williams would have any more of a chance with Muss then with Rick....We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I hope he gets some minutes tonight, but I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt.

Rick didn't care about developing players. Kevin only played because Bonzi blew out his groin and Peja played because they traded Corliss to give him the starting spot.

One could say that Brad regressed. He was awesome his first year here and has since declined severely under both coaches.

Justin will probably get some minutes tonight to see what he can do. He was inactive for the game on Saturday as he had just signed and probably wasn't able to practice with the team.

This should be considered about a 20 day contract as they will probably sign him to another 10 day to evaluate him once the first one is up.

We have such a gaping hole in the front court I can't see what we have to lose by activating him. Hart and Price are going to sit on the bench whether they're active or not.

I think we'll see some Williams tonight.

gee I wonder why that was ?

Yeah...maybe if he has a good practice we can put him in to take a critical shot in OT!

I have no idea what Justin's minutes are going to look like tonight, or even if he's going to get any. Remember Muss had to be part of the decision to cut the kid at the end of camp. And we could have signed him at any point for the remainder of the season, but waited instead until we could give him a 10 day callup. I would think the short callup would mean there is some pressure to actuallyt see him on court before he goes poof, but on the other hand its also quite clear that we weren't exactly burning to get him. Meanwhile Muss's minutes for the bench as a whole and the kids in particular have been all over the place. Cisco is in and out. Price played, now he doesn't. Douby had a good practice, a breakout game, now is gone again. Meanwhile Corliss continues to chug as Big #4, and Mo had his best game (all things are relative) last time out. I could see Justin getting slipped in during the 2nd period as an experiment. I could see him not even being active. No idea.

I say we throw caution to the winds and start him at the 5, moving Brad to the 4...

;)

giving Williams some PT makes perfect sense. but, Musselman is retarded, which means he does lots of things that make absolutely no sense. therefore, no PT for Williams. sorry guys

If Williams is in uniform tonight, who do they sit? They already have Hart and Potapenko on the inactive list. Do they put Mo on the inactive list. Price, Douby....

Are you just being immature by stating Musselman is retarded, or do you actually have proof he is not playing Williams? Yes, we should all blame Musselman for the losses, because, I mean, the team just tries SO HARD!

He's going off of Musselman's quote on Kings.com about having to look at him more in practice in the next few days.

With the new CBA, the active roster doesn't have to be turned in until 1 hour before game time...

I suspect Grant will have a copy of said roster at the beginning of the game.

ok, this is retarded! if muss went to a ymca in hicktown, kentucky and watched a few games and saw someone block 5 shots; he would be wise to put him on a plane to sacramento and start him at the 5 for the kings. that's how much this team sucks right now.

No, what's "retarded" is people acting as though Justin Williams is going to miraculously turn this franchise around.

i know that's a gauranteed 2 blocks a game if we use him. nothing else is working. i think i could suit up and take kenny thomas' spot

I agree with you on this one. If this guy was as good as some people on here think, there is no way they would have cut him before the season started. Regardless, I would still like to see Muss give him some minutes and see if he can contribute tonight.

NOTHING is guaranteed.

If Corliss isn't playing tonight, they could well have activated Williams. We'll have to wait and see...
