Idea: Trade Brad for PJ Brown + Chicago's '07 1st round pick

I'm not sure if this has already been discussed, but I thought this might be a good way to shake things up for us. Although PJ Brown might not be an upgrade over miller on the court, I've heard he's a great lockerroom guy. Plus, he's no slouch. Brown has averaged 9.3 pts/8 rebs a game over his career. Of course the real prize would be getting Chicago's first round pick next year. Chicago has the right to swap picks with the knicks, so this could be a potential lottery pick. The next draft is shaping up to be quite nice, and I wouldn't mind being in the running to possibly get Oden!

I think Chicago might do this because they could really use a guy like Miller who could play the 4/5 and provide scoring. Also, Chicago has a ton of great young players, so they may be willing to move their draft pick in order to add an all star like Brad.

As far as the logistics, I believe this trade would work salary-wise because they are within the maximum 125% difference. Brown is in the last year of his contract and is making $8 million while Brad is making about $9.6 million (according to hoopshype.com).

Anyways, this is just a late night thought that came to me after suffering through that game tonight! GRRRRRR!!!!!!

Chicago is not going to trade their assumed lottery pick in a stacked draft, for an expensive aging, defenseless center, PLUS a large expiring.


No way at all.

A sar and hart for Brown is more likely something that both teams will agree to. Brad is a premeter oriented player and the bulls have plenty of those already. They need a guy like sar who could score in the post and ben could cover him on D. Brown is a guy who could play solid D and rebound next to Brad, if that doesn't work out his contract is expring.

i was thinking a good trade involving sar and hart would be with seattle for watson and maybe swift (i know hes injured), better to do this at the end of the year.

Brad Miller would be a very nice addition for the Bulls, but if you have visions of Greg Oden or Kevin Durant running through your head, well guess what: so does Chicago.

Nobody with a lottery ticket for the Greg Oden sweepstakes is going to trade it. They won't trade their pick until the lottery positions are decided in May.

Also remember that the Bulls always starts off slow because they have to play the majority of the early season games on the road (thanks to the whole "Circus" road trip when Ringling Brothers takes up the United Center for 2 weeks). If you haven't noticed, Chicago is slowly creeping backup into the standings.
