You can't ever count this team out. EVER.

Even with a clearly tired Cuz again, we get down 20 in the third to a defensive juggernaught, go to the bench and out pythoned the python while our offense got better quarter by quarter.

Good stuff. Now just 1/2 game out of the #8 spot, and Portland is down 22 in the 3rd -- they lose, and we are tied.

Cousins ( C ) -- again did not have legs on the back to back, but fortunately not so lost as he was last year after the 56pt game that ended our season. Missed a number of chippees that were more missed than Goberted. We were largely better without him, but down the stretch got to the line repeatedly, and finally put the Jazz away.

Welp, this is probably going to be the biggest stretch of games this year for our team. Kings play the Wolves next, extremely athletic, but IMO rather soft and a bad defensive team. The Sixers after the wolves (trap game), and then back to playing an extremely defensively inept Portland team. possibly 3-0 the next 3 games!

Perseverance. That's the definition of this comeback performance...Lawson has been on a roll, need to keep seeing this consistency. Ben being on the court has the same effect as when Rudy is on the court...lots of wide open three point field goals for the opposition. Collison continues to show that he has no business being on this team along with Rudy.

Are they though?

Or are the fans. Because all year long I've felt the fans were projecting disappointment and panic on a team that has just gone about its business in workmanlike fashion.
Yes, the Kings lose to an unhealthy Knicks team...then implode vs. an injured Jazz team...but come back and blow the Lakers out of the water...but implode vs. the Houston, just to come back and beat the Grizz. Lose horribly to a terrible Mavs team, but come back and beat a healthy Portland team.

Lots of internal battles.... the Knicks and Mavs matchup should've been a W, but instead, we beat the Grizz and Portland.

Our role players need to play more consistently if we want a real shot at the playoffs.

5-game win streak would match last year's team....that's the marker. So far 2 is it. They have not won 3 in a row (yet). Lawson might, just might be that guard stabilizer if he can keep the point production and play the same way. If he can grow his average up to 14+pts (a long way to go), it will put them more into contention at the end of games or against other mediocre teams.

Portland was healthy for the most part but they were missing Aminu & Turner. Grizzlies were missing Parsons. That said, injuries are part of the game, next man up mentally has to be applied here. Losing to the Knicks twice and being blown out by the Mavericks is head shaking worthy but that's the enigma of Kings basketball...prior to this win, their pattern was W, L, W, L, W, L...so seeing three W, W, W is going to be a tough task.

This team has not yet shown it is a contending team - it can be as "workman" as you like, but they're 5 games under .500 and have not had a long winning streak. They need to go on a 7-game winning streak right now just to be .500. 2 close wins are a start against teams with better records. Its much more reasonable to predict a slide-back starting with a loss to the Timberwolves next game. That's just a reversion to what you'd realistically expect, not a projection. Do you think Kings fans want losses? Neither do I. I'm big on Lawson, hoping he's making himself into previous form. At the start of the season, he was my biggest hope, anyway.

Kings were down by 12 against Portland Temple came in Kings won...

Kings down by over 22 Utah. Temple came in Kings won...

Every single game this year Kings get down by about 10 points to start the game....

Temple comes in makes it a game again

This is not rocket science Dave !!!!!!!! Ben/Affalo/Barnes????just free Temple!!!

I am only offering this as a thought for you to ponder so you might see a different perspective. It makes a lot of sense to start Temple. I don't disagree. However consider this.

Temple has proven himself so important for us, it would be a shame to be forced not to be able to play him. As our best defender, he makes it look easy (ish) but note the last two games and maybe more he has ended up with 5 fouls. In this game with a LOT of time left. Using Temple at critical moments rather than just starting him because " Thats where the best players are" might be more beneficial.

Not knocking you at all, just another way to look at it and possibly save yourself an aneurysm over this one facet of the coaching job Joerger is doing.
