Biggest Victory Of the Year? I think so....

The Freak

Starter
Despite the 20+ Turnovers, we had great effort out there. How 'bout webber and peja???? The bench was fantastic!!!!

What Can't I say about this game?

Peja had 28, six 3-pointers. Webber with the double double.

What a game.

In hindsigh yes (to the Suns). But at the time I don't remember thinking of it as one since I figured the Suns weren't for real. :)

This game tonight was HUGE! We will carry the momentum on the road this week, a very needed and deserved win. WTG BENCH!!!

even with the spurs getting 4 rebs in the final 9 secs.. we still ended up outrebounding them! :)

rebs 47-44 kings
assists: 23-20 kings
blocks: 8-5 kings

:) great win!

Ill take the Suns game.
I dunno about that; the Suns have been playing great basketball, and it was definitely a big win, but the Spurs are still a much better team. For that matter, the Spurs are probably a better team than the Kings; this was a very big win.

What a show! That game was, at alternating moments in time, both the ugliest game and the most beautiful game I've ever seen the Kings play.

Without question the best they played this year. The TEAM defense was what did it. I hope this wakes them up b/c the D tonight for the Kings was unbeatable.

Both are both huge and great. I like the win on the road when quite a few people were not giving them a chance to win that game.

Was this the biggest victory of the year? Oh yeah... But it is only Jan. 2...

Seriously, this game was BIG. The Kings had to prove to themselves if no one else that they could beat the Spurs, one of the elite teams. They did it with grit and HUSTLE - big-time HUSTLE.

Don't forget that Pedja pretty much embarrassed Bowen and Webber made Duncan look like a bench player... those weren't accidents, folks. That was GOOD play by two key players.

And Special K? He stepped in to a BIG game and showed his stuff. That, in and of itself, is HUGE.

Message to the jerks who moaned and booed when Webber went to shot that j? Shut the bleep up.

This was a good, good game and I'm proud of how they hustled.

Webber had a double-double, with 7 assists, 4 blocks and 3 steals AND he shut Tim Duncan down.

What more exactly is he supposed to be doing?

Hell yeah! These same Spurs ran Phoenix out of the Gym the other night! And we got em! Way to Go Webb and Peja! Good Job by the Bench and Rick Adelman, you couldn't have coached a better game!

I'll admit I moaned as well. Although with the last couple shots he took he gave you reason to be doubtful. That was kinda messed up.

i could have sworn that it was their only victory of the year or did i miss something yesterday???

No, he gave you reason to be doubtful. It wasn't a pull up jumper without thought. It was an open shot off a nice pass by Bibby. There was no reason for him NOT to take it. I cannot believe that people reacted that way.

:(

I understand how you feel I do. But you have to Believe!!! Almost every Big Shot he's taken this year , He's knocked down. When he was struggling(with his shot) tonight he changed it up, made great passes, played great D, and made huge hustle plays. Remember this game(and that shot) next time you feel like groaning.

Yea, this was the biggest game of the year so far. The Spurs are more of a team to beat than Phoenix. The Suns are a great team, but theyl have yet to prove they can beat the best teams in the league. They haven't played Indiana, Miami, or Detroit. They lost to Sac, Minny, and San Antonio.

The Spurs are a huge defensive nightmare, and for the Kings to win in such a strong fashion (rebounding, defense, bench stepping up during Bobby's injury, clutch shots, free throws...), it really speaks volumes about their heart and talent. They really gave a full game of effort. This game was the best one by far.

I go with the percentages and the percentage on that shot is not as high as a layup. So as long as we rely on a jumper its less than 50/50 statistically speaking. BIG BIG shot though.

Yeah Clutch situations blow statistics out of the water. Always.

Hey, Spurs played close D on us tonight too. They only grabbed 3 less boards than us :D and actually had 6 more steals AND we committed 7 more turnovers. Bibby got bailed out on D more than a couple of times by shoddy shooting by Parker and Ginobili, but it all worked out and was BY FAR the game of the year.

Yeah That's True. It just goes to show everyone that we CAN and WILL give our opponents 48 minutes of hard work.

.....or maybe 35 minutes ;)

I think if I had to give a letter grade for the team tonight, I'd have to say it was a 'B' effort, I think that all the turnovers were severe lapses in concentration, I mean, bad pass after bad pass...soft passes, etc. If we didnt have all those, we would have won by 15, more than likely. But hey, I cant be entirely critical, we won, and didnt play our best, so that says something. I think the Spurs were, other than a couple of stretches, were unusually cold, missing alot of shots that they normally make, but I think that has alot to do with the defensive effort tonight, which I thought was grade 'A'. Webber especially with timely and HUGE blocks...Miller was key, too. On the road this week, if we play smart, we can win 3 of 4. I think this win was as big as any so far this season.
