rooks V sophs sophs by 20

j smoove for the dunk

korver for threeeeeeeeeee mr moose Q rich won't make it outof the first round. i can't stand that guy.

yah i don't care about the other stuff LOL!

ya know yesterday i was really looking at the east team and i mean REALLY looking at the guys they had they have a pretty darn good solid team as well...last time i believe the east won was that year when they had Steph and AI in the backcourt and those two basically put the rest of the east starters on their backs and rode in for the victory (AI was MVP that game)

but im gonna go with the West just cuz they are the team who should win...win you look at the type of stars they got....im callin a big game from T-Mac i just have suspicion he is gonna go crazy

as for the 3pt contest...im pullin for Kyle...hopefully he wins but i don't mind if Ray wins

rooks vs sophs---sophs win hands down if the rooks win it will be the biggest upset EVER

dunk contest--my money is on J Smith...although that other Smith kid definetly has hops

skills challenge--my gonna go out on a limb and say Earl wins it...easily

as for the shooting stars...although i enjoy watchin it...i don't give a rats patootie about how wins

I will remind that the LA Crue are the defending champs. ;) Mag can still shoot, that's why they'll take it again.

rooks gonna take it! MVP is gonna be LUUUUUOWWWWL(loul) DENG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just noticed that the rook vs soph game is tonight...thats new...usually its on Saturday afternoon

and also some celebrity basketball game...that should be interesting...im guessing they got some people from the entertainers league

Gargamel im well aware of who the defending champs are in the category...i personally say boo the LA team and boo to the Phoenix team just cuz it has Diana Taurasi on it...and i can't stand that girl...so i hope either the Detroit team wins or the Denver team

Ha ha ha. I'm calling it now - my crew is gonna take it again.

PS: Taurasi and I grew up in the same city. Gargamel fun fact.

Well actually i just found this on the all star game page on nba.com...but i guess this Celebrity game is gonna be a real joke and a half...with the exception of Brian McKnight who can flat out ball....

Other celebrity participants include Sugar Ray front man and host of “Extra” Mark McGrath, music producer, artist and record executive Jermaine Dupri, Grammy Award-winning artist Brian McKnight, professional skateboarder Eric Koston, “Entertainment Tonight” weekend anchor and correspondent Kevin Frazier, “Blind Date” host Rodger Lodge, along with WNBA players Lisa Leslie, Diana Taurasi, Becky Hammon and Nykesha Sales. NBA players Andre Miller and Earl Boykins will serve as the team’s head coaches. ESPN studio analysts Greg Anthony and Stephen A. Smith will act as General Managers.

ESPN's commentator lineup of Stuart Scott, Mark Jones, Tim Legler, Tom Tolbert, Bill Walton and Jim Gray will contribute to the telecast.

and for Kingsgurl87 who was wondering about Ciara...

Halftime of the game will feature a special musical performance by 18-year-old R&B sensation Ciara.

she's only 18..?? no way

^yeah that is mean

and why would people think that??

well she is pretty solid and she definetly doesn't look 18...but what am i saying she isn't a man

It's just because she doesn't happen to be an Aaliyah. That's the problem with music these days. Image is everything, as Agassi used to say.

shes no where near aaliyah lyrically. aaliyah looked better too. :)

so far in this rook vs soph more game the rookies are doing their thing...very impressive...i also figured that the rookies said from the begining there is NO WAY we gonna let LbJ show us up tonight...so everytime he's even attempted to go to the basket and dunk it they've just hacked him....interesting...PJ Carlismo is real serious

That's what I'm sayin. I saw Ciara's first video and it's obvious that her people fashioned her look and singing style after Aaliyah's. It ain't gonna work out for her.

the rookies started playing like rookies after the half. :(

melo got mvp. HAHAHAHAHAH

he deserved it and its nice to see that he can actually be a star in some form for the weekend considering its right in his back yard

rookies were solid...im proud of them...they end up losing by the traditional margin...but they played EXTREMELY well in the first half IMO...

thats cuz my boy loul deng, i need to dig deep into the closet and pull out my bulls jersey.

Deng had a good game...i had no idea he had outside range like that...the rookies were pretty well rounded...everyone got a chance to score...and everyone contributed nicely

Chris Bosh also had an excellent game for the sophs

how come Hoiberg and Damon are not in the 3 point contest? they have the #1 and #2 best 3 point percentage.

im watchin the east all stars practice...live on NBA TV...and ill tell ya i like how they are actually showing the practice but i hate how Stan Van Gundy is mic'd so that everyone in the stands can hear...it just makes the practice feel even more generic than it already is

but on a slightly random note: Stan Van Gundy looks so cute in his warm-up suit...lol

it seems like im just checkin in giving people all star updates in this thread

but any you who

im watchin the NBA STREET SERIES special on TNT and they just had a nice lil piece on Mr. Mike Bibby....they previously had a piece on Dwayne Wade so i was thinking Mike's gotta be on this show somewhere and ofcourse..they he was in the next segement...one of the best PG in the NBA

did anyone see KGs interview with John Thompson on the One on One special...?

all i gotta say is WOW!

it was IMO very hard to watch...you totally felt KGs pain

everyone has said a lot of things about KG this year...myself included...but after viewing that interview you just feel so sorry for him

i mean the dude was crying...fighting it off real bad...but tears nonetheless...KG is a tough guy and he obviously viewed crying as showing a sign of weakness so you know that if you are seeing him get so emotional its REAL

and ill tell you at certain times during the interview i nearly started to cry

IMO if you had a opinion of KG before you seeing that interview im sure its changed even in the sligtest way after seeing it

wow

Yes, it was difficult to watch on a couple of levels. One, as you say, it was hard to watch someone (let alone our reigning NBA MVP) in so much pain. He is shouldering a lot of the burden himself and it must be difficult. Another reason it was hard to watch is that I went from being a big KG supporter to very disappointed as he has presented himself to be a thug. While I cannot get past that, I do at least give him props, not only for his incredible talent, but also for his exposing his emotions like that.
