A week in China

Beijing, foggy right? It's all SMOG! I would walk around in this for hours, it made me want to stay indoors during my time there. Not the best place for the Olympics (smog is not good for athletes or anyone). They also really need to start finishing those freeways before 08.




Tienamen/Forbidden palace getting fixed up before 08 Olmpics. Fobidden palace was like a 3-4 hour walk through, and had a Star Bucks in it (not really forbidden).



The city at night, no seat belts in the cab (dangerous because people drive their cars with a bicycle mentality, squeezing, pushing, and quickly merging their way along very crowded streets)



Very crowded subways, I had one moment where I was pretty much stiff armed elbowed by someone on purpose.

The Great Wall made the trip worth the days of breathing in smog.

The entrance was really crowed, why was there only a few entrances for a country with 2 billion+ people plus tourist.

They only let us walk about 20 minutes before asking us to get off, guess it was because of crowding?

ex circus bears, a side attraction in the same area before you get to the great wall. This one is waiting for people to throw it some apple.



Confucius's temple, this is the world's largest carved Buddha from a single tree. It is in Guinness.

Also visited a Jade factory and a spiritual tomb. Aside from culture and tourist attractions China pretty much reminded me of a more crowded/polluted East Coast. The Great Wall and the crazy taxi (a motorbike with a seat belt less seat facing traffic) made my trip.

I remember when the Kings went to China and was at Fobidden palace & Great Wall.

I wish I got to visit those places when I went there...instead I spent two weeks at an old village, aunt's apartment and malls.

Thats cool, im staying in Wuhan right now for studies, having been traveling yet but would like to get up to Beijing.

These are all amazing pictures, including the ones from Japan and Ryan's various travels. I dislike big crowds of people, but I would love to see all of those places!
