700 WINS!!!!!

As it stands, the head coach of our Sacramento Kings (the winingest in franchise history) currently has 691 career coaching victories. A lot is said about things that he does, or doesn't do with these players, but 700 victories on any scale is a heck of achievement and one that should be recognized. Though, if you have been following along as most of us have, its an annual occurrence for Rick Adelman to move up another hundred for the past couple of seasons.

To me it is the responsibility of the coach to put the players in a position to win, and RA does that on a nightly basis. Is RA perfect? No, far from it, but he has done a heck of job putting together a system, along with the help of his trusty and talented in their own right assistants, that help the players succeed doing the things they are best at. And say what you want about him, he still has 691 more victories than you do ;). So, let me be the first to congratulate the head coach of the Sacramento Kings on his eventual 700th coaching victory!

Oh, linzeesan......here is your number to start the countdown.

Coaching is probably a lot like a "marriage", it takes two...in this case a dozen or more. When things are going well, there's nothing like it. When trials/tribulation hit. Oh, wow! Who can we blame??? Everyone has a part in this "marriage" called the Sacramento Kings. We have to able to trust the leader and work together as a collective family unit to succeed. When we win...all share the glory, and when we lose,,,, well, we all should get behind each other and lift oneanother up until the weak link can stand on their own again. That goes for us fans, also. Happy Valentine's Day, one and all. and..
early congratulations Rick Adelman on #700 and a terrific career.

Bump.....# 698 tonight

And now, I think it means even more Through everything he has the team playing together and even winning ball games.

Edit: I just realized that the thread is more than a month old! Thats ok, better late than never. ;)

Adelman is coaching his *** off. Nothing seems to keep his teams down for long. People that take shots at RA don't know very much about the NBA.

Zuh?

I'm confused... I'm pretty darned sure that Adelman is at 698, but why does ESPN.com (not that they're anywhere near perfect) have him at 701-432?

I'm looking back, and I'm not seeing the error, maybe someone else can?

Either way, GO RICK, You're almost to 700 (again?)!

I am a bit confused too. Is this only for regular season wins or playoffs wins are included as well?

If you count playoff wins as well, he has 765 wins total. I guess that answers my question that this is only for regular season wins :)

RA has done an incredible job this season. Having to deal with the major trades, new aquistions, key injuries and chemistry issues. I don't think any other coach can get their team to win games under all of those circumstances. Major, major props to RA...... until ofcourse the next loss comes around..... then it's off with his head again.;)

I know Rick is the coach but I consider him a King just the same as any player on our team and value him every bit as much, our team would not be the same without him. So on that note GO KINGS!! BRING RICK HIS 700th!!! :D

espn siad that he already had 700 wins.... when i checked earlier this morning it said that he was 702-433.... in 15 years.....

I don't know what's up with that but in the articles in the Bee and on Kings.com it says he has two wins to go to get to 700...not sure what is up with that.

that is weird...i still think however he still has 2 more to go...hopefully he can get it by the end of the game on Sunday

GO RA!
GO KINGS!! Win them for the coach :)

Way to go, Coach Adelman!!!!!

Sweet! And nice to see long-time assistant coach John Wetzel in the house to share in the moment.

:D
