    Kings sign Desmond Mason (merged)

I could have scored 50 on the Kings last year.

    Kings sign Desmond Mason (merged)

This is so stupid. What in the world do the Kings want with a 31 year old swingman, and a washed up one at that? Obviously he's a decent player for the price and since it's league minimum the league would be paying most of the salary, but this is yet another player Greene and Casspi are going...

    Ariza to the rockets

Well, he was in the postseason but he only started 19 games in the regular season. And with Artest coming in there's no way he would have been the starter.

    Ariza to the rockets

Can't fault Ariza for going where he can get paid and get minutes. He's always been a backup, now he can prove himself. I think it was a good choice.

Official 2009 Free Agent Tracking Thread (merged)

That was fast. ESPN is reporting that both Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva have agreed to terms with Detroit. Gordon for 5 years/$55 million, Villanueva for 5 years/$35 million. Looks like we dodged the Petrie-inexplicably-but-predictably-going-after-Villanueva bullet...

Good to see McNeal and John Bryant on the list, still would have liked to have seen Heytvelt.

    Possible to trade for Rubio?

It's cool, Rainmaker, I'm just giving you a bad time.

    Brandon Jennings

Not cool, man. Giraffes everywhere are insulted. Including the ones on LSD.

    Charlie Villanueva UFA

Sounds like the Cavs are interested. That would be a pretty good fit. Anywhere but here. Villanueva is talented but not a fit with this lineup.

    Possible to trade for Rubio?

Kevin Martin for Ricky Rubio is fair for whom?

    Possible to trade for Rubio?

No one is pining after Rubio? Please. Rainmaker hasn't even changed his/her avatar! Kahn has said he is willing to wait a year or two for Rubio and even wrote a letter to season ticket holders saying that when he shows up the starting PG spot is his (which must have been news to Flynn). He...

    Kings Front Runners for Nate?

Yeah, can't see this happening with Evans/Rodriguez coming on board. Petrie says he's going to focus on finding size in the trade/free agency period, I believe him.

    Possible to trade for Rubio?

No, it's ludicrous. First of all, the indications are that the front office would have picked Flynn over Rubio, and while we haven't heard about Curry, that's possible as well. So it's not as if they badly wanted Rubio. Second of all, indications are that Minnesota isn't trading. Third of...

    Big Man in free agency

I was referring more to the fact that he only averaged 19 minutes a game this season (down from 28-31 earlier in his career) because they started playing Horford more at center. He didn't disappear completely, but his role has been diminished the last two years.

    Possible to trade for Rubio?

No, I'm sorry, it's illogical and absurd. If the front office thought Rubio was going to develop into the best point guard in the class they could have drafted him. They didn't. Now they're going to turn around and trade for him when they're invested in at least giving Evans a shot at the point...

    Possible to trade for Rubio?

The Rubio love among some fans has gone from illogical to completely absurd. THE KINGS PASSED ON RUBIO. They could have had him. They didn't want him. Furthermore, it sounds as if in the event they couldn't get Evans they wanted Flynn over Rubio. They scouted him. They had him in for a...

Balancing our roster with Indiana and Boston

Hell no. You're talking about giving up a pretty decent trade piece (KT) and Beno for either a 29 year old power forward who has no place on the roster or a 32 year old center who has no place on the roster, combined with a completely insane 31 year old point guard who... wait for it.... has no...

    Big Man in free agency

Noc for Verejao would be great, although Verejao was pretty important to the Cvas during their playoff run. But it might be appealing to them because Noc could guard Hedo and serve as a backup 4 for them. Interesting idea, and it wouldn't cost the Kings cap space. I like it.

    Big Man in free agency

Man, a KT for Chandler swap would be almost too good to be true. He would be such an ideal third big and Arco would love his hustle.
