    Why Isn't Sasha Playing?

Yeah, I have no problem with taking a chance on Saha to begin with, even in hindsight. It’s really too bad it didn’t work out, it seemed like he was about to finally get some momentum and then kept getting hurt. Paying assets to dump him when later agrees to a 100% buyout is not great, though.

Collected Sacramento Kings 2024 Offseason News Links

Pretty good take. I think it undersells how much the was a weakness and defense fared fine down the stretch, but it eventually gets to the correct point, I think.

    Kings after Ingram

Kuzma also allegedly told Washington he preferred to stay put at the deadline when Dallas was inquiring about him. To me, that’s more of a red flag than any fashion choices (which is a silly concern).

    DeMar DeRozan Rumor

Seems like there’s a significant difference between the Bulls being unwilling to take on salary and not necessarily wanting to. Sidery showing why we can’t necessarily trust him as an aggregator here. The Yahoo article the other day suggested the Bulls would be mostly concerned with staying...

The rock trophy is a great idea. I keep thinking of the Nickelodeon Guts trophy though.

    DeMar DeRozan Rumor

Yeah, I still haven’t had time to do a deep dive postmortem on 23-24 but to me the offense taking a step back and stalling out was a bigger problem than the defense.

    DeMar DeRozan Rumor

Yeah, if DeRozan can be acquired in a sign and trade for some combination of salary and just one pick going out, I might prefer that to caving and dealing two picks for Kuzma (which might be Monte’s fallback plan if he can’t land a bigger name).

Wasn’t Mann off the table for Harden?

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

I will say it would be very Monte-esque to be tied to LaVine for forever and end up with DeRozan. That was the story with Huerter (Collins was the speculation) and I think one other transaction that escapes me at the moment.

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

I mean, sign me up for either, but with them cornering the market on former Denver SGs, and still having their young guys to play, do they really need Huerter, either?

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

As I posted in the Ingram thread, DDR is interesting. Not the greatest fit, but definitely talented, and if you stagger minutes I think he and Monk could be fun on offense while Fox sits. I just saw he was looking for a one year deal to try to come back on the market next year. After I posted...

    Kings after Ingram

yeah, if it’s just one of the defensive role player types like DFS, I feel it’s likely Brown just keeps starting Barnes and everyone here loses their minds. DeRozen is interesting. Not the greatest fit, but definitely talented, and if you stagger minutes I think he and Monk could be fun on...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

Not necessarily. The Pelicans still need a center, and the rosters of several other teams remain unbalanced as wel. It may be that not many teams ste in a place where they are willing to pay up for Ingram. We shall see.

Yeah, the appeal of Ingram would be that he would not cost Keegan. Unlike Lauri.

Right. Presti the rebuilding GM had the luxury of working with the assets built by… Sam Presti. Monte, of course, did not have a similar luxury. Nor was he hired with any sort of leeway for a full rebuild, I’d imagine, given the playoff drought the franchise had been through at the time.
