Crowder played in 50 games and averaged 23.1 min and 6.2 pts per game for a good Milwaukee team last year, which is fine for a bench vet. He would definitely add some much needed toughness to the bench if we added him. Coach Brown tends to favor these tough grizzled vets for these end of bench...
Agreed. I think a sharp shooting SG/SF capable of backing up the 3 in Huerter is more valuable off the bench than an oft injured big man with this current roster.
Keegan can be very special. What's holding him back is the lack of consistent aggressiveness night in and night out. If he could just stay aggressive every night (or at least 80% of nights), he could become a Kawhi Leonard type two way star.
Yeah, I saw an interview with him before the draft and he didn’t seem to have a killer instinct. I think he said he wanted to be “well liked” when asked how he wants to be viewed. Lol
Yeah, I like Kessler too. I don’t know why Brown doesn’t use him more. If Monte doesn’t sign another SF, Brown may be forced to play Kessler (if he is re-signed). His defense has always been stellar.
Not sure if McDaniels will be in the rotation. Brown tends to favor players that can actually be a factor on the offensive side of the ball to play. McDaniels seems more like end of the bench player (12 to 15th man) to me.
If Davion (pre-last 25 games) and Kessler could hardly get off the bench...
Huerter is literally the only experienced player that can play the 3 off the bench on the team right now. You trade him to get another backup 3 and we are still super thin at the 3. That’s why Monte should sign a veteran free agent 3/4.
The Kings are still awfully thin and small in the 3/4/5 area. One major injury to one of our front court players could be devastating.
And I don’t think shipping out Huerter (our only legitimate back up 3) would be the answer. Trading Huerter would only thin our front court.
Monte needs to...
Unless someone has really secured the 4th guard spot (Colby, M Jones, or McL), I wouldn’t bet against Carter just showing so much defensive tenancity in practice that he doesn’t earn some minutes in Brown’s rotation.
If he comes back at the 6 month (mid January) mark, the Kings would be right...
Yeah, I wanted to get Reed too.
Now it's time for Drew Timme to grab that 3rd center spot if he performs well in the summer league and training camp. I still think he could stick as a 3rd center on our roster. A poor man's Sabonis.
Considering we are close to being hard capped, I would try to sign Paul Reed and/or C. Osman with our remaining cap space to fill in the backup 4/5 and 3/4, respectively.
Unless we are able to do an even swap of Huerter for a SF/PF type, I would probably keep Huerter and have him backup the...
With the Kings dire need for size in the front court, I could see Issac Jones making the team as a defensive 3/4/5, paving the way to give the other 2 way spot to Boogie Ellis.
The main point of giving up a pick swap would to make sure the Kings are a playoff team come 2031. If we are a perennial playoff team, then swapping say the #21 pick for the #27th would be worth getting DDR today. Now Monte and the Kings have great motivation to stay good and relevant 7 years...
Monte definitely needs to fill out the roster with some size, I’d have Paul Reed, P. Achiuwa, C. Osman agents on the phone right now.
No time to take a break and celebrate Monte, fill out this roster with some size and defense.
Yes, ideally, I would prefer to keep both Lyles and HB. I would actually like to keep HB off the bench, he would provide good size off the bench, something we were seriously lacking against teams like NO last year
I like the idea of getting DDR in that he can provide that solid solid scoring punch and hopefully won’t cost an arm and a leg to get. If we can send out only Huerter and cap filler (Duarte or Lyles) and a couple of 2nd round picks, we keep our flexibility to re-sign Fox and hopefully a max...
