Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

You can say the same thing about Davion. He could very well be contributing for another team next year considering he will be up for a new contract, and we would already have Fox, Ellis, Monk, Jones, and potentially #13 as our guards. He’s, at best, our 4th guard in the rotation and could be...

Are you claiming that Grant Williams was a bust at #22?

    I don’t think that’s what Capt was saying…

Oh well if there are 2nds involved that could very well balance the trade, but he just mentioned Mitchell for #22 which I think is a bit farfetched.

I’m not a big fan of Smith. I’m not high on his defensive potential and that’s what we’ll ideally need next to Sabonis. Having said that, I would gladly take #22 for Mitchell but doubt his value is that high. I think Mitchell would return an early 2nd.

    Keon Tyrese Ellis

And I wouldn’t be shocked if we decline the 3rd year option with some sort of message to the league that we are matching. That’s sort of how Herb Jones ended up on his amazing deal (if I’m not mistaken). He was a 2nd round pick and they declined his last year (preventing him from hitting UFA and...

I feel very comfortable with Murray’s defensive potential guarding 2-4 and even some 1s. And it seems Brown feels the same way often giving him the assignment of these smaller players (including PGs). It’d be much better for us to keep Murray at SF and find a bigger & longer PF. If we do what...

It should be… Fox Ellis Murray ??? Sabonis Murray has already shown himself to be a great defender at SF. Plus by playing him at SF, that gives you great length at PG, SG, and SF. If you add another PF with great length, that means you now have 4 players with great length surrounding Sabonis...

Alright so I’m now sort of leaning towards trading for Grant Williams. Hear me out… A lot of my posts have been centered around finding that 3rd star to put next to Fox and Sabonis (or to be patient) in an effort to elevate us to a contender. Our hope is that Murray becomes that player but...

    Keegan “KEEGAN MURRAY” Murray

Replace “second year players” with “sophomores” and it might make more sense ;)

I think the trade would be… Harrison Barnes Kevin Huerter Sasha Vezenkov Chris Duarte for Zach LaVine Alex Caruso Torrey Craig (could remove him if he opts out) Now I’m on the record for being against a LaVine trade mainly because 1) it looks like we already have a great starting SG on a...

Is 30 now considered “youngish”? I must have missed that memo. ;) As others have stated, it’s his contract, age, and the fact that he’s on a rebuilding team that make him available. As for the trade I proposed in my previous posts, many POR fans on other forums think that’s a solid deal for...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

The other good thing about the following trade I mentioned in my post (on top of getting an immediate upgrade at PF)… Kevin Huerter Sasha Vezenkov Chris Duarte #13 For Jerami Grant #34 #40 …is that it gives us 3 swings (#34, #40, & #45) on players that may fall. Guys like… Ulrich Chomche...

Collins has 2 years left on his deal (no way he doesn’t pick up that option). Huerter has 2 years left on his deal as well but Vezenkov and Duarte can all act as expirings (thus freeing up money the following season). However, the real prize is the lottery pick while still having a strong...

Oh Collins has negative value. No way he’s returning #13 by himself. Also, Hendricks didn’t exactly take the league by storm last year and now has 1 less year on his rookie deal. I don’t think he maintained his pick value considering the season he had. As for Clowney, he’s really not the floor...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

I’m getting overwhelmingly “nos” from the ORL fanbases on a Huerter/#13/2025 POR 2nd for Isaac/#18 trade and it still seems like the vast majority of ORL fans wouldn’t even do a Huerter/#13 for Isaac trade. I’m becoming more and more pessimistic that Isaac is actually a realistic option for us...

Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

Yeah that idea was overwhelming shot down by ORL fans on another forum unfortunately. The majority of them would even turn down Huerter/#13 for Isaac. I’d love to snag Isaac away but nobody wants to be the team that traded a player away that (if healthy) is a ~$40 mil per year player. I’m...

Yeah I don’t think that cuts it. Isaac is one of those guys that you’ll need to overpay to get IMO. If he’s healthy, he’s a $30-$40 mil a year player and is a perennial contender for DPOY while also not being a sieve on offense. Nobody wants to be the team that traded Isaac away and then he puts...

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

Yeah that seems to be likely. After gauging other fan bases on how much they value their SFs/PFs and after looking at our assets (removing Fox, Ellis, Murray, Sabonis, and future 1sts from consideration), I think the list of SFs/PFs we could trade for are: Andrew Wiggins Bobby Portis Brandon...
