Fox as a finalist for MIP!

I hope Bagley makes a similar leap as Fox did this last year. That said, MIP may still be an uphill battle, as there are some who don’t think it should go to young players who make “expected” improvements. I don’t agree with that perspective for evaluating the award, but I’ve seen it expressed...

    NBA/Kings Draft Lottery Thread

I'm not sure about that. Boston still has the rights to the pick moving forward. Memphis is positioned to pick Morant and may be more likely to trade Conley now, so they very well be worse next year. In addition, the 2020 draft is likely better and the pick will only be top-six protected (and...

So, how about that Brook Lopez? ;) Worried his market price just went up significantly.

KingsFans.com Free Agency Wish List: 8th Choice?

This is where talent and fit really start to diverge. Lopez is my pick, as I’d rather have him at his market rate than I would have the more talented guys here on max deals. As for next up, I forget, are we including guys with player options?

Making the case for DeWayne Dedmon:

Good points. But I wonder if the other path is to get someone who can play the Bjelica role on a consistent basis, and hope Bagley develops his defense sooner rather than later. His length is limiting, but I remember him blocking some shots in impressive fashion thanks to his elite second jump.

Making the case for DeWayne Dedmon:

The Bagley at 4 or 5 debate really is central. The question is whether you think Bagley will become a 3-point threat or a rim protector first.

Does Bagley remind you of Siakam?

Your original post was clear enough. Some folks just like to argue ;)

Allegations against Luke Walton (split from new coach thread)

For me, the more interesting question is whether *Walton* knew the allegations were coming, and whether the Kings asked him to disclose any potential claims against him before they hired him. Typically, filing the complaint is not the first step in this process.

The attorney also could be paid on a contingency basis, meaning that he’s agreed to take some percentage of any final judgment or settlement payment rather than an hourly fee.

Allegations against Luke Walton (split from new coach thread)

Presumably the Kings asked Walton to disclose any pending or potential claims against him that could impact his ability to perform his coaching duties (if not, they need better lawyers). It has been reported that the Kings did not know about this claim until yesterday, I believe. If Walton knew...

Allegations against Luke Walton (split from new coach thread)

These aren’t *quite* facts. A few clarifications, because there are a lot of misconceptions about these matters. 1. Correct. 2. Testimony is evidence. If I get into a car accident and a bystander saw what color the light was, the bystanders statement is evidence. Of course, you examine the...

    C/PF off season discussion

Good point. No, the Vivek regime has not paid the luxury tax yet. But, frankly, they haven’t had any reason to. You could say finances weighed on the Cousins trade, but I think their decision to pass on the super max extension for him has shown to be prudent (as an aside, it seems like the super...

    C/PF off season discussion

This is an important point. There’s a certain order of operations that comes with team building in this way. Since you can go over the cap to keep existing players, but not add new ones, it makes sense to try to add the impact players in the next year or two, before you lose cap space extending...

Maybe so, but I’d submit he’s the least redundant out of any of those players listed (aside from Middleton). And didn’t they already extend Bledsoe? We’ll see, Id love to be wrong!

    C/PF off season discussion

If your reasoning is that a playoff team is unlikely to let its starting center go, why would the Bucks, fresh off of finishing with the best record in the league, do the same? I agree and have posted previously that Lopez would be a great fit, but I’m wary of getting hopes up.
