[Game] Warriors @ Kings - 12/19/12

i tihnk MT is the obvious choice. and i think Honeycutt needs to play. if hes not gonna play send him back to the D League so he can continue to grow
It's 1 game.... Did you really want Honeycutt playing tonight? I do think MT gets the nod though. IT and Jimmer are developing really nice chemistry together and have been incredibly effective for us

i know but if they had no intention on playing him why even bother bringing him back right now?
A couple of possibilities:

1. For scrimmage purposes.
2. To make sure they have enough people on the roster.
3. Because they will utilize him when it's appropriate. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And tonight it wasn't broke.

Ummm, no. He did everything he could to give this away. So did some of the players as well. They should have won by 15.
We must have been watching different games. I'll just agree that we disagree. I'm not gonna grouse about a win. We get too few of them to waste the glow.

Did you really expect to beat one of the best teams in the NBA by 15? Everyone and their mother knew the Warriors would make a run. I'm just impressed we held them off and closed it out

I've given Cisco a lot of grief over the years, but he has really been a positive contributor to the team this season. I certainly hope he's okay. He's already had more than his share of turnips.
DID YOU KNOW: Francisco Garcia is in the Top 10 in the Sacramento-era franchise history in four statistical categories, as well as Top 10 in all-time Kings/Royals franchise history in two statistical categories:

  • Games Played: 7th. Needs 18 games to move past Vlade Divac and Lionel Simmons, who are tied for 5th.
  • 3pt FG Made: 5th. Needs 9 more to move past Kevin Martin for 4th.*
  • Steals: 9th. Needs 27 to move past Anthony "Spud" Webb for 8th.
  • Blocks: 7th. Needs 30 to move past Brad Miller for 6th.*

* Ranked all-time franchise history. Now, to be fair, the NBA didn't start counting steals or blocks until the '73-74 season.

He had IT, Jimmer, MT and Salmons in all at the same time in the 4th quarter????

Also, MT fired a 3 with 20 in the shot clock and no rebounders with under 4 min in the game.

Brooks tried for a steal in the back court for no apparent reason, then Salmons fouled Jack (which wasn't a foul) because he had to pick the man up.

Oh, and don't forget when Smart was yelling at Brooks at the end of the quarter so much that Brooks looked over at him and then got blown past. Then Smart threw his hands up like he can't believe that just happened.

I am not trying to downplay the win, most fun game of the year by far. Doesn't mean we can discuss all the mistakes that were made.

And that's with all the games he's missed or just didn't play. Imagine if he had been healthy - and I mean totally healthy.

He's number 1 in the league all time for stupid injuries.

Offensively, Carl Landry was playing like a hall of famer in that 4th quarter. There was nothing anyone could have done to stop him from making all those fade away jumpers. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat.

+1 This, give the Warriors some credit. Landry was hitting everything he put up. They did just set a historic 6 -1 record on their recent road trip.

Great win by the Kings!

The kings got a victory against a hot Warriors team that played well. The Kings are suited to the fast pace of a game like this. They are young and have an easier time playing relaxed. We have a deep bench. The Kings came to play and showed some effort for a change. The double team on top is starting to work. They rebounded better. They are trying to get back on defense. This game was very entertaining. The Kings can win at the fast pace by outscoring other teams.

The sort of streak continues. Out of 8 victories, Evans missed four of them. Cousins was ejected in one, and was not there in the 4th quarter in one. That means that in 6 out of the 8 Kings victories, Evans and/or Cousins did not lead the charge in the 4th quarter. That is not a bad thing, it just makes the point about the team game and importance of the bench and role players.

Sleepy Salmons played well last night. Brooks had a good game and so did Thomas.
