I find it interested that Miami sort of woke up after losing the season series to Charlotte; it's like they realized that, if they finished behind the Bobcats, there's a chance they might not make the playoffs, and just sort of decided, "Well, I guess we'll just have to make sure that we don't finish behind them, then," and have been killing it ever since.

Started March in ninth place; two days into April, and they're in fifth. And I'm thinking they'd rather get a piece of the Celtics than try to get a rematch against Atlanta.

Who else is only gonna watch OKC and Hawks games during the playoffs? I mean, I'll watch alot of the games, but those two teams are the most interesting.

@ Slim: Those Hawks are gonna be nasty in the east. Miami is a 2nd rounder at BEST.

Conf. Finals will be:

Hawks vs. Cavs

Lakers vs. Mavericks

I want to see the Hawks and Lakers tear into each other so bad.

Bobcats.

I'll actually watch every game that doesn't come on while I'm at work. I'm a junkie that way.

Yea, that Bogut injury was nasty.

I read somewhere that Xrays revealed NO broken bones. Just a dislocated Elbow. That guy must drink a ton of milk.

Not sure how long a dislocated elbow takes to heal, but I hope he can come back for the playoffs.

Don't worry, Jennings will beast in the playoffs and lead the Bucks to an NBA championship. Heck, while playing the lakers in an elimination game for the lakers in game 6 he will play center, score 48 points, grab 17 rebs, and dish out 13 assists. All of this just to prove who the REAL ROY should have been ;)

Wait. You do know what happens in Game 6's involving the Lakers, right? ;)

The Lakeshow disappoints at home, gets blown out. I couldnt stop laughing. I dont see them repeating. It's going to be fun talking smack in the bars down here in Lakers country when they get eliminated in the playoffs.

Right now watching the Dubs, hopefully they help us out lotto wise and beat the Raps. Gotta admit Curry is a baller. But Reke is still more beastly than the kid (accept when playing the Blazers of course).

As much as I hate the Lakers, the regular season is a different game for them. They will not go down without a fight come the playoffs, especially in a 7-game series.

Well, as long as Bynum's still out, they will have a very hard time repeating. Gasol just isn't enough against elite, or even very good, teams. You could see it against the Spurs yesterday, Duncan really worked him and Manu had very little trouble driving into the paint. Add to that that their bench is atrocious that Artest still doesn't work in that offense and that Derek Fisher is pretty much done and they will have a hard road ahead of them.

Bye bye bucks...
But seriously. That injury was gruesome. Same thing happened to me only I wasn't pushed, hands just slipped off the rim and I fell backwards. Thankfully I'm less heavy and was far from as airborne - fell on an outstretched arm and broke my wrist. But that was ... man.

Ewwww to the mavs/magic finals? If so that's how I feel too. That would be terrible and I probably wouldn't even watch. Lebron needs to be in there AND win, too.

I have my reasons for liking the Mavs. As for the Cavs, I just dislike James that's all there is to it. I'm not even sure why, I'd just much rather see the Magic or the Hawks in the finals. Truthfully, I'd probably likethe Hawks even better, the Magic just seem more realistic.

Hogwash. Plain and simple, they are not as good this year as they were last. It's not because of the Artest/Ariza swap, it's primarily because they are complacent and arrogant and think they can just turn it on whenever they want to. They lost three of four, then put it on Utah, and as if to say "see, we're the defending champs, we can beat whoever we want when we want to," they turned into a pathetic effort against a banged up Spurs team that they might wind up playing in the first round, and got blown out at home. The Lakers are not good defensively, especially without Bynum, they get killed by guards (every team in the West has really, really good guard play), and their bench can't score if Odom has to start (four bench points yesterday, had a game with six bench points last week). If anyone thinks the Lakers are just gonna coast through the Western playoffs, think again. Denver is better this year, Dallas is better, Phoenix has been the unsolvable team for Phil Jackson since he came back, Portland is not afraid of the Lakers (which is the only difference between them and Utah), and Oklahoma City has first round upset potential written all over them, and they are only two games ahead of 8th seeded Portland in the loss column.

It's not that I think the Lakers are gonna get swept out of the playoffs in the first round. They are easily the most talented team in the West, and have probably the best player in the western conference, if he's healthy. Probably the third best big man. They are gonna be hard to handle. But this notion that 'all they gotta do is just show up' is the most annoying thing in all of sports to me (with the possible exception of judging players based on rings won), and I sincerely hope that someone flicks the Lakers switch to the "off" position this postseason.

I secretly hope Lebron never wins a title. There's a sick little part of me that likes to watch super hyped mega stars fail miserably. As long as they're not wearing a Kings jersey.

Not so secret anymore, huh?

I normally don't like uber-hyped players, but I am rooting for LeBron. Was skeptical at first, especially with him signing a $90 million contract before he ever stepped foot on an NBA court, but in 2007 when he put his team and the city of Cleveland on his back and got to the Finals, it was pretty clear that he was a superstar destined for greatness. Every game that I watch him play, he dominates. He has shortcomings and weaknesses, like free throw shooting, which cost the Cavs the game yesterday, but he's the best player in the NBA, and assuming he wins at least a couple titles, he'll be in the conversation for best ever.

The coach of Cleveland sucks. I don't remember his name because he's not worth remembering. I really think that the biggest thing holding Cleveland back from a championship is their coach. He doesn't run the ball like he should, doesn't play Lebron to maximum advantage. If Lebron wins the big one it won't be because of incredible coaching, that's for sure.

Eh, I guess it's just the rebel in me. Lots of people love Lebron, so I feel like I shouldn't.

Or something to that effect.

Haha I'm with you. I usually don't root for Cleveland unless they beat Milwaukee (cos of that Gumby dude) or Boston (who I just don't like because I personally feel they're a very dirty team). In the East I'd prob. root for Atlanta and Orlando

IMHO the closest we'll ever see to Big O
